[20].Surah Taha [Tâ-Hâ]

Ayat 130. So bear patiently (O Muhammad cid:C8C8A436F5EC4218BFB06C4C14DEF913@gmail [SAWW](PBUH) what they say, and glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun, and before its setting, and during some of the hours of the night, and at the sides of the day (an indication for the five compulsory congregational prayers), that you may become pleased with the reward which Allah shall give you.

Tafseer Surah Taha Ayat 130 Therefore be patient with what they say, and celebrate (constantly) the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun, and before its setting; yea, celebrate them for part of the hours of the night, and at the sides of the day: that thou may have (spiritual) joy. All good men must be patient with what seems to them evil around them. That does not mean that they should sit still and do nothing to destroy evil; for the fight against evil is one of the cardinal points of Islam. What they are told is that they must not be impatient: they must pray to Allah and commune with Him, so that their patience and faith may be strengthened, and they may be able the better to grapple with evil. For they thus not only get strength but inward spiritual joy. Taraf, plural atraf, may mean sides, ends, extremities. If the day be compared to a tubular figure standing erect, the top and bottom are clearly marked, but the sides are not so clearly marked: they would be atraf (plural), not tarafayn (dual). Now the prayer before sunrise is clearly Fajr t that before sunset is 'Asr: "part of the hours of the night" would indicate Maghreb (early night, just after sunset), and 'Isha, before going to bed. There is left Zuhr, which is the indefinite side or middle of the day; it may be soon after the sun's decline from noon, but there is considerable latitude about the precise hour. The majority of Commentators interpret in favour of the five Canonical prayers, and some include optional prayers. But I think the words are even more comprehensive. A good man's life is all one sweet Song of Praise to Allah.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah cid:C8C8A436F5EC4218BFB06C4C14DEF913@gmail [SAWW](PBUH) said, used to strive more in worship during Ramadan than he strove in any other time of the year; and he would devote himself more (in the worship of Allah) in the last ten nights of Ramadan than he strove in earlier part of the month.

[Muslim].

Lesson: We learn from this Hadith that: 1. One should concentrate more on prayers and worship on the last ten nights of Ramadan than the first twenty nights, in the same way as one should do more worship in Ramadan than in the other months.

2. One should keep oneself awake for prayer, worship and glorification of Allah in the last ten nights of Ramadan so that one can attain the blessings of Lailat-ul-Qadr.

3. One should also persuade his family members to keep themselves awake for prayer and worship in the last ten odd nights of Ramadan so that they can also make efforts to please Allah.

4. I`tikaf (seclusion in the mosque for prayers) in the last ten days of Ramadan is also a meritorious act for its being a practice of the Prophet cid:C8C8A436F5EC4218BFB06C4C14DEF913@gmail [SAWW](PBUH) (PBUH).
