[70] Surah Al-Ma'arij [The Ways of Ascent]
Ayat 36. So, what is the matter with those who disbelieve that they hasten to listen from you (O Muhammad ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH), in order to belie you and to mock at you, and at Allah’s Book (this Qur’an).
Ayat 37. (Sitting) in groups on the right and on the left.
Ayat 38. Does every man of them hope to enter the Paradise of delight?
Ayat 39. No, that is not like that! Verily, We have created them out of that which they know!
Tafseer of Surah Al-Ma'arij Ayat 36 to 39. Now what is the matter with the Unbelievers that they rush madly before thee. Before thee. The Unbelievers did not believe in a Hereafter. When the Bliss of the Hereafter was described, as in the last verse, they ridiculed it and pretended to be running in for it as in a race. They are here rebuked in the same tone of sarcasm. 37. From the right and from the left, in crowds? 38. Does every man of them long to enter the Garden of Bliss? 39. By no means! For We have created them out of the (base matter) they know! The animal part of man is nothing to be proud of, and they know it. It is by spiritual effort, and long preparation through a good life that a man can rise above the mere animal part of him to his high dignity as a spiritual being, and his noble destiny in the Hereafter.
Hadith الحدیث
English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: We heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [SAWW](PBUH) saying (while delivering Khutbah on his wooden pulpit), "Either some people (i.e., hypocrites) stop neglecting the Friday prayers, or Allah will seal their hearts and they will be among the heedless.''
[Muslim Hadith # 1882].
Lesson: They will be among the heedless'' means those who will become utterly unmindful of the remembrance of Allah and His Orders. Such people are Munafiqun (hypocrites), whose abode will be Hell. It means that negligence of Juma’ah for a long time is such a serious offence that it can even seal a man's heart, which finishes all hopes and chances of one's improvement.
