Intensity Distribution

Hi, I was looking at the distribution of intensities on a DAB staining and the DAB OD mean ranges between 0 and approximately 1.2 on the intensity scale but I'm not quite sure what this scale is or what the overall max/min is? What exactly are the units to this measurement?
