I upgraded my macbook to Mojave today. When I have my sound output set to airplay (and only when it's set to an airplay speaker) and double-click a song in Quod Libet or use the navigation buttons to go to the next song, itunes automatically opens and starts playing the first song in my library. I tested this against Vox and Vox doesn't have this behavior. Same with Tomahawk. In itunes I changed the default sound options so it's only my internal speakers and unchecked airplay, but it continues and appears itunes resets this setting on every launch of itunes.

I talked to Apple Support and they claim developers have an 'itunes override' as a dev option to prevent this which they don't think is in place. Could be an easy "not my problem" from Apple but... anyone experience this or have a way to stop it? Any idea if Quod Libet is being updated for Mojave that might fix this?

For now I installed the "NoTunes" app that immediately closes itunes when it launches but I'd rather fix this if possible.

FWIW I have not upgraded to Mojave and have had this same thing happen, but it is intermittent for me. I haven't been able to detect a pattern in exactly what makes iTunes decide to appear.
