A vulnerability in the authentication system of Cisco Smart Software Manager On-Prem (SSM On-Prem) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to change the password of any user, including administrative users.
This vulnerability is due to improper implementation of the password-change process. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted HTTP requests to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow an attacker to access the web UI or API with the privileges of the compromised user.
Note: Cisco SSM On-Prem and Cisco SSM Satellite are the same product. For releases earlier than Release 7.0, this product was called Cisco SSM Satellite. As of Release 7.0, this product is called Cisco SSM On-Prem.
Cisco has released free software updates that address the vulnerability described in this advisory. Customers with service contracts that entitle them to regular software updates should obtain security fixes through their usual update channels.
Customers may only install and expect support for software versions and feature sets for which they have purchased a license. By installing, downloading, accessing, or otherwise using such software upgrades, customers agree to follow the terms of the Cisco software license:
-user-license-agreement.html
Additionally, customers may only download software for which they have a valid license, procured from Cisco directly, or through a Cisco authorized reseller or partner. In most cases this will be a maintenance upgrade to software that was previously purchased. Free security software updates do not entitle customers to a new software license, additional software feature sets, or major revision upgrades.
The Cisco Support and Downloads page on Cisco.com provides information about licensing and downloads. This page can also display customer device support coverage for customers who use the My Devices tool.
When considering software upgrades, customers are advised to regularly consult the advisories for Cisco products, which are available from the Cisco Security Advisories page, to determine exposure and a complete upgrade solution.
In all cases, customers should ensure that the devices to be upgraded contain sufficient memory and confirm that current hardware and software configurations will continue to be supported properly by the new release. If the information is not clear, customers are advised to contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) or their contracted maintenance providers.
Customers who purchase directly from Cisco but do not hold a Cisco service contract and customers who make purchases through third-party vendors but are unsuccessful in obtaining fixed software through their point of sale should obtain upgrades by contacting the Cisco TAC: -cisco-worldwide-contacts.html
In the following table, the left column lists software releases. The right column indicates whether a release is affected by the vulnerability that is described in this advisory and the first release that includes the fix for this vulnerability. Customers are advised to upgrade to an appropriate fixed software release as indicated in this section.

When I click the ok button I get another popup window with error "You are not entitled to the report or data is not available." My permissions have been checked and not changed from past permissions. And occasionally the report will present itself. But when I select a device in the report I get the following error:
We will surely assist you. Could you please try and access the portal using other browsers by clearing cache and also with incognito mode and confirm if you still face the same issue? Also, confirm if this issue is intermittent.
Can your dev team give the totalcare page more horse power or something? its by far the worst Cisco site I have to navigate, aside from the random errors the above user mentioned that I've encountered on and off for years at this point...sorry I just utterly hate having to use the page.
Came here to find out if it was just me or not. Looks like not. This
services.cisco.com site is one of the worst cisco sites. I am so glad I have spent the countless hours building collectors, getting them working, and uploading to this site so that I can get errors. This is not a new problem. I have been using SNTC for years and have seen these issues. In the past, it would clear up in a day at most and I could see my inventory. Lately, it has been useless. I can't see my inventory, I can't see latest upload processing, I am not sure that there is a page on this site that actually works.

So for 30 users the only reason to use smart ports would be if different device types connect to the same port at different times - in this scenario the switch would need to auto reconfigure the port.
Richards2, the UID is the first 6 characters of the MAC address. In the case of printers, there may be several, but most other devices have just a few that are consistent. I could help you with some basic scripts if I could figure out a way to email you.
Mayor Sly James announced Wednesday that the city is partnering with Cisco to develop a mobile platform in its downtown corridor that will enable Kansas City to launch a number of pilot projects including sensor-based infrastructure monitoring, smart street lighting and high-definition security video.
Other cities that have worked with Cisco as part of the Smart+Connected Cities program are Hamburg, Germany, which tied traffic data to street light timing as a way to improve vehicle flow throughout the city, and San Antonio, Texas, which installed video kiosks as a way for residents to resolve court-related problems (such as parking tickets or traffic violations) closer to home rather than having to commute and wait in line at the courthouse. The system is also used for police detectives to connect with judges to obtain warrants.
The city of San Mateo, Calif., a suburb south of San Francisco, is collaborating with Cisco and smart parking startup Streetline on a project using cameras in place of sensors as a way to detect a presence of a car on the street or in a garage.
