Nearly every Android phone or tablet allows you to take a screenshot by quickly pressing the volume down and power buttons. Just press them down at the same time -- only for a brief moment -- and when you let go you'll hear a camera shutter sound, your screen will flash and you'll see a thumbnail of your screenshot show up at the bottom of your screen.
If you want a long, scrolling screenshot (only available on Android 12), take a screenshot like usual but this time tap the two-arrow icon in the screenshot preview. It might also be labeled "Capture more." Each time you tap the two arrows, it will extend the length of the screenshot until you reach the bottom of the page.
Also, it's important to get the timing right. If you hold down the buttons for too long or let go too quickly, you might find yourself staring at your phone waiting for it to do something, and yet nothing will happen. Or worse, you may get to the reboot screen and not know how to go back (just press the home button). Take a few minutes to practice both methods if you're having a hard time triggering the screenshot functionality on your phone. It will save future you some headaches.
Swipe to capture: To turn on the palm swipe gesture, you'll need to go to Settings > Advanced Features > Motions and gestures and slide the switch next to Palm swipe to capture to the On position. With that option turned on, slide the edge of your hand from the left edge of the display to the right side to take a screenshot. It may feel a bit weird at first, but it's a more reliable method for someone who struggles with the timing of the button-pressing combo.
Use your voice: As long as you have Bixby Voice or Google Assistant enabled, you can use a voice command to take a screenshot. Just say, "Take a screenshot" and either of the two assistants should be able to capture your screen without you having to use your hands.
S Pen: Remove the S Pen stylus and head to the screen you want to capture. Now, tap the Air command menu icon > Screen write to take a screenshot of the page you're on. You can then use the S Pen to write or draw on the screenshot. Hit the Save icon when you're finished.
As long as you're running Android 12, you can use a unique swipe gesture to take a screenshot on the Pixel 6. All you need to do is swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold your finger on the screen for a second. This will open your app drawer, where all your recently opened apps appear. To capture your screen, tap Screenshot.
In addition, you can use Google Assistant to take a screenshot on the Pixel with only your voice. And it doesn't need to stop at just that. You can say something like, "Hey, Google, take a screenshot and send it to Mom" to perform several actions with just a single voice command.
You'll need to turn it on by opening the Moto app in your app drawer, then selecting Moto Actions and tapping Three-finger screenshot from the list of options. There's a quick demo built into the settings section that lets you try it out before enabling the feature. The process consists of placing three fingers, somewhat spread out, on the screen at the same time until you see a screenshot captured.
Been using my s22 plus and have tried using the screenshot gesture but it's freaking terrible. I have to swipe with my palm numerous times to finally get the screenshot. I miss the old days when you press the power and volume key to take a screenshot. Hell even my v60 had an option where you can use the screenshot button along the back, home and recent apps button.
A scrolling screenshotor scroll capture lets you take a long shot of your screen. This is a perfectoption if you want to take a screenshot of long conversations or a Twitterthread. You can do this in the later Galaxy Note models, such as the GalaxyNote 9.
Agreed I am using Phone(2) and need a SCREENSHOT GESTURE I am used to take screenshots by three finger gesture in my last phone and now it is very annoying to press the buttons or take the screenshot from recents it just take more time.

Whether you just reached a new level in a game or want to save an important document, you can capture it by taking a screenshot on your Galaxy phone or tablet. Depending on the type of device you have, capturing a screenshot may be a little different. Either way, it's an easy and convenient process for saving images on your device.
No matter what Galaxy phone or tablet you have, the steps for taking a screenshot are similar, but it does vary slightly based on the model. Before you take one, you'll need to locate the Power and Volume down buttons.
When you want to take a screenshot, quickly press the Volume down button and the Power button (Side button) simultaneously and then release them. The screen will flash, indicating that a screenshot was captured.
Note: This function may not be available on all Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite does not support Palm swipe to capture due to a hardware limitation. However, you can use the tablet keys or the Air command menu to take a screenshot instead. You can then view and share your screenshot in the Gallery app.

Is that webpage too long to capture in just one screenshot? Scroll capture lets you take multiple screenshots of one page and then combines them all into one big screenshot. That way, you get the whole picture. Plus, it works with all the other ways to take screenshots. In other words, if you use the button combinations, palm swipe, or even the S Pen, you'll still have the option to use scroll capture.
No matter what kind of device you have, you'll be able to view your screenshots in the same place. Just navigate to and open Gallery. You can also swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Notification panel, and then tap the screenshot notification.
Another way you can access these screenshots, along with your videos, documents, and downloads is through My Files. Just navigate to and open the My Files app, and then tap Images under Categories to view your screenshots.
You may want to take things a step further though and store your screenshots onto a microSD card, an OTG flash drive, or a PC to prevent an overload of photos in Gallery. There are many options for moving photos such as using My Files to transfer your screenshots onto a microSD card.
To share a screenshot right after you've captured one, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Notification panel. Then, tap the down arrow on the screenshot notification. Tap Share, and then share the screenshot by using one of the available sharing options.
To share it at any time, open the Gallery app. Select the Albums tab, and then tap Screenshots. Touch and hold the screenshot you want to share, and then tap Share. Use one of the available sharing options.
On my ipad mini 6 screenshot gesture from left or right corner is not working even Ihad force restarted my iPad. I am on newly released iPad OS 15.2. If I select quick note then it's working perfectly!
Taking a screenshot on Android is actually pretty simple, at least on paper. Where things get confusing is that many Android devices include OEM-specific changes to Android, so there are many different ways to take an Android screenshot.

These basic methods should be all you need for most Android devices. However, there might be some exceptions. Android device manufacturers often include extra and unique ways of taking Android screenshots. For instance, you can take a screenshot on Samsung phones using the S Pen (if your device has one). Other manufacturers have opted to replace the default method entirely and use their own instead.
The Galaxy Note series has been phased out, but the S Pen continues, and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra still carries one. You can use the S Pen to take a screenshot, given that your device comes with one.
Since Google Pixel devices run Pixel UI, these handsets use all the standard methods for taking screenshots. You can go back to the first section of this post for specific instructions, or just press the side and volume down buttons simultaneously.
Another option is to use Air Motion. This works with the LG G8 ThinQ, LG Velvet, LG V60 ThinQ, and other devices. It involves using the built-in ToF (time-of-flight) camera to recognize air gestures. Just wave your hand over the device until you see the icon showing that it has identified the gesture. Then pinch the air by bringing your fingertips together, and then pulling them apart again.
