This is a bugfix release fixing several bugs on accessibility, usability, and security of Packet Tracer 8.2. Cisco Packet Tracer 8.2 introduced a new command as well as bug fixing regarding incompatible DLLs that caused Packet Tracer crashes.
Cisco Packet Tracer 8.2 is created by Cisco SystemsTM and is provided for free to everyone. Self learners are able to download Cisco Packet Tracer after registering on Cisco Netacad website. This is a major change in Cisco delivery policy for Packet Tracer as previous versions were only available for Netacad students and instructors.
Cisco Packet Tracer 8.2.2 can be downloaded for FREE from official Cisco Netacad website. Log in to Cisco Netacad.com learning website and select Resources > Packet Tracer in the menu to access the download page. The software is provided with several tutorial files allowing academy students to discover the software features.
The NX-OSv 9000 is a virtual appliance designed to simulate the control plane of a Cisco Nexus 9000 switch. The NX-OSv 9000 shares the same software image running on Cisco Nexus 9000 hardware platform. Line card (LC) ASIC provisioning or any interaction from the control plane to rela switch ASICs are emulated by the NX-OSv 9000 software data plane.
Following the the Nexus 7000 Titanium emulator, the NX-OSv 9000 is a moder emulator for datacenter certifications training. It's also great plaform to test network automation prior to production deployment.
NX-OSv 9000 runs on GNS3, KVM, or VMware NSX. Current version of NXOSv is 10.4(1)F. This version adds or enhances VXLAN EVPN First Hop Security (IPv4), radius over DTLS, port-channel load-balance command for MPLS tagged traffic, support to redirect/deny all packets using ePBR policy, VXLAN QoS Outer Header Policy for Layer 2
UCS PE (Platform Emulator) is a powerful Cisco UCS Manager emulator allowing CCNP datacenter students to learn how to configure the UCS environment. The current version emulates the UCS manager 4.2(2aPE1), which includes 62xx/63xx/64xx Fabric Interconnect, C4200 series rack server chassis with C125 rack servers, as well as Cisco UCS M6 and HX220C and HX240C servers support. The S3260 storage server is also emulated in UCS PE. These release can be connected to GNS using VMware.
UCS PE is also featured in a Cisco dCloud programmability demo (cisco login required). The demo includes a comprehensive lab guide including the following content for Cisco UCS PowerTool and the Python SDK:
PT Anywhere is a web application designed to offer a network simulation environment based on Cisco Packet Tracer engine throug a web interface which can be accessed from a web browser. PT Anywhere can as such be integrated inside a website, an online course, a learning systm like moodle... It has been developed by the Open University and Cisco and has been funded by the FORGE project.
The PTBridge java utilitary has been validated working with Cisco Packet Tracer 7.0 . This tool provides real network connectivity to Cisco Packet Tracer, and thus the ability to connect to other lab environments. Download it from Github and connect your Packet Tracer labs to your real Cisco devices !.

I am using the latest version of packet tracer but still getting compatible issue and I can't find anywhere any solution of it anywhere if anyone knows how to open this file please help !!
It is bad that when you update to a new version any old file you have will not work on the new version, and there seems to be no workable solution found...it is annoying and pain as I am trying to use the tutorials I have here to help teach my class on how to use packet tracer
Completely agree, this makes it impossible to work with files from older versions, resulting in having to spend more time trying to get things working. It would help if there was some kind of conversion script that could update files to a newer format.
Im gonna guess tht this is not gonna be of any use to the original poster but for anyone with this issue try opening packet tracer and then opening the file through file>open instead of through file mnager, hope this helps!
For the new Packet Tracer 6.01, I just used Wineskin Winery to create a wrapper. Opened that appropriately named "wrapper", added the .exe file from the menu, and then select the packettracer.exe file as the startup file, then hey presto - a Packet Tracer 6.01 for Windows that runs native on my Mac. You'll need to download XCode first for the process to work. But I'm rather happy - this being what I call "The Third Way" (1st: VMWare, via Windows 7 or 8; 2nd: PlayOnMac). I prefer this.
Cisco Packet Tracer is free to download but you need to register for Netacad Networking Academy which is also free. Registering is helpful because you will also need to sign in with the same ID when you run the simulation tool.

Linux 64 Bit DownloadMore about packet tracerCisco Packet Tracer is a powerful network simulation software from Cisco Systems Inc which can simulate/create a network without having a physical network. It has a drag and drop interface that is easy to use yet highly effective while configuring complex networks.
Cisco Packet Tracer can also run as a hybrid network combining physical networks and the simulated networks. All this is achieved by using a drag and drop visual interface. This capability makes the software unique and highly useful across institutions and individuals worldwide who want to learn and practice their networking skills before touching the production networks.Cisco Packet Tracer is one of the better initiatives by Cisco Systems for learning, institutions, and students can both benefit from skills and career building. The benefits of using Cisco Packet TracerA few benefits of using Cisco Packet Tracer simulator tool include the following:
The main feature of Packet Tracer 7.3 is that it supports the latest CCNA 7 package. It is not compatible with the CCNA 6 package. If you are using CCNA 6, then you should stay with Packet Tracer 7.2.2. You can find the direct download links for both versions 7.3 and 7.2.2 below.Other changes in Cisco Packet Tracer 7.3Packet Tracer 7.3 workspace improvements :

And then you can start using the software as per your choice. How to use Packet Tracer? There are a lot of tutorials on Youtube and the Internet which can guide you through the network learning process using the Cisco Packet Tracer. But for me, the best tutorial is from Cisco NetAcad. You can go to netacad.com and sign-in with your Cisco OneID. Once signed in, you can click on any of the links below to start the guided tour of Packet Tracer and how to use it for network simulation.
Good job buddy.I would like to request for more video tutorials on packet tracer.Yes Packet Tracer with GNS3 will be a good hands-on for CCNA and beyond, however, to get cisco IOS is not easy from google. If you got one send me the link on my gmail address:[email protected] .Thanks Xicohtl
Sounds like a great idea. Im a beginner with Cisco; would you please send me the download for packet tracer.
Also i have sit in on CCNA classes before i decided to register and the overwhelming problem in 3 schools i saw was knowledgeable instructors that were not either patient or able to break it down for understanding. I felt like i was listening to E=Mc2.
