This guide outlines simple steps for activating your new Bitdefender subscription. You can activate your Bitdefender subscription by either clicking the activation link in your purchase email or manually entering the activation code found in your email or retail box. Follow one of the methods below to proceed with activation.
If another subscription is already active in your Central account, access the My Subscriptions panel located on the left side of the page. Next, click + Activate with code.
After you receive the activation code for your new Bitdefender subscription, the next step is to activate it in your Bitdefender Central account. If you need help with the activation process, refer to the article How to Activate the Bitdefender Subscription.
I purchased and installed the 2020 version on a different/newer laptop. The license is for five devices with 220 days remaining on my subscription. Currently, only one device is covered with the 2020 version. I want to find the activation code for the 2020 version so I can update the laptop with the 2018 version. Where do I find the activation code for the 2020 version?
I logged into Bitdefender central, (I do have an account) clicked on My Subscriptions, but do not know where to locate the activation code. See the attached image for account info under My Subscriptions.
The activation code is used once and only once when activating a subscription on the account, after the purchase, meaning that at this point you do not need it anymore. In order to install Bitdefender on a 2nd, 3rd device etc. all you need to do is to login into your Bitdefender Central account and download it from there. To do so, please follow the below steps on the new machine:
I checked my email messages and could not locate the activation code which was sent to me by the seller. I had upgraded by 2019 version to 2020 and the instructions sent by the seller had me update using a username and password they set up. It was done by logging on to Bitdefender Central and going through the My Subscriptions option on that page. Sorry that I don't have the code. That is why I am trying to ask questions about how to locate the code either somewhere on the Bitdefender dashboard or on Bitdefender Central.
What follows are the instructions I was given in the email message by the seller. I have not included my username and password information (login credentials) the seller had included in the email message for security reasons.
You can Check the product validity under "My Subscription" tab. Change email address & password once you logged in successfully. If you already installed bitdefender latest version, kindly follow below instructions to get it activated.
Turn on your pc and open "Bitdefender Dashboard" by double clicking the bitdefender icon located in your task bar. Select "My Account" tab and there is an option "Switch Account" at the top of right hand side corner. Just click it. It will take you to Bitdefender login page and enter the login credentials i sent to you.
Thanks for the information. If the second laptop, the one I want to update from Bitdefender 2018 to Bitdefender 2020 already has the program/software loaded on it, is it necessary to remove the 2018 version and reinstall the 2020 version?
When I updated the newest computer from version 2019 to version 2020 I did not have to remove the 2019 version and was given the following instructions from the seller of the software for version 2020:
Hello there! I'm new to Bitdefender and I really need the protection on my phone as it's been compromised many times. I'm trying to set up the two factor authentication and I dont know where I'm supposed to get the bitdefender QR code the suggested sites ask for? Thanks for any help with this:)
As a final note: the way to recover your QR code is to inactivate from your existing 2FA app then reactivate. Otherwise you will need to contact support directly and provide proof you are the real owner of the account...
Based on your description of the situation encountered, I would recommend contacting the Technical Support Teams, as more information might be required to troubleshoot this. You can get in touch with our engineers by choosing one of the contact methods available here:
I've installed Bitdefender on half a dozen pieces of equipment before. For whatever reason, after entering e-mail/password it goes to a two-factor authentication saying they are sending a security code to my e-mail (they display the correct e-mail), but never send the code so I can't install Bitdefender on my Android phone.
I would get a hold of Chat support, as they are very easy and responsive to work with. They could at least head you in the right direction. Go through the Activate and Install steps until you get to the black contact support box.
This article will guide you through the activation of 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your Bitdefender Central account. With 2-Factor Authentication, your Central account can only be accessed on devices you trust. Each time you sign in to your Central from a new device, your password and a verification code will be required. This way you will prevent account takeover and keep away types of cyberattacks, such as keyloggers, brute-force, or dictionary attacks.
IMPORTANT! Make a note of the extra codes you receive when you activate 2-Factor Authentication. They will come in handy if you ever get locked out of your Bitdefender Central account.
If you have chosen to receive the authentication code via email, you have 5 minutes to check your email account and type in the generated code. If the time expires, you will have to generate a new code by following the same steps.
Phishing has been a longstanding method of deception, taking various forms based on digital trends. This attack aims to trick people by any means to divulge sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details, which can then be used for further criminal activities.
The company faced challenges with traditional barcodes, requiring up to 10 barcodes on a single product. This approach led to production delays as scanners struggled to read them from a single direction.
Masahiro Hara found inspiration for QR codes while playing the game Go. He realized that a similar grid-based system as the GO game board could store more information in a single code and be read from multiple directions, angles, and distances.
Cybercriminals can get very creative in employing various cunning tactics to trick individuals into scanning their fake QR codes, ranging from covering legitimate QR codes with their own to sending convincing emails and messages.
"I'm trying to sell a PS4 through Facebook, and I've mostly been receiving the FedEx courier scam (the one where they ask you to get the money in cash from a courier who picks up the item), but today I got an offer from someone who wants to use DHL to pay me and pick up the item.
She claims that I can use a QR Code to get paid, and that afterwards I can bring the package to a DHL office to send it. I don't trust it fully, but I do know that DHL does have this type of service, so I'm trying to find out if it's a scam. Have you had anything like this?"
