Google Groups -
There are many benefits for using Google Groups inside a classroom and using it with students. Though similar to blogging and "chat rooms", Google Groups is a safe way for students to communicate with other peers, parents, and teachers. Students must be invited into a group through their Gmail account. The only downside right away is, a student needs to have a Gmail account. Fortunately, many schools today provide each of their students with a Google username. Once students are in the group, the administrator of the group can decide who posts and what is posted. If a teacher needs to get a message out to the students about an upcoming project, the teacher can post to the group. From that, students can comment or question for all members of the group to see relating to the project. With that being said, the students can create their own groups as well. This would be extremely beneficial for projects that are done at home or away from school. As one can see, using Google Groups is a positive addition to any tech savy student and classroom.
