All,
Quine 2.4.0 has been brewing for a while, including big changes in the handling of access for wikis outside of the Quine files store - i.e. the whole area of "bookmarks".
In 2.4.0 bookmarks are only needed for folders, and they are hierarchical, in that if you bookmark a folder then its entire subfolder structure is able to use the same bookmark. You won't need to bookmark files. And as you might imagine this big change needs testing by users seriously dependent on Tiddlywiki file links, canonicals, backups, etc for files and folders OUTSIDE of Quine's own folders. Examples are Dropbox, or the various iOS document folders, like Pages, Numbers, Keynote etc.
Please let me know if you are a heavy user storing Tiddlywiki files in the above such locations, and are willing to beta test. Please include the name of the file store you want to test, and if I believe it should be accessible I'll sign you up as a beta tester and look forward to your feedback.
Please be aware that file-providers like Box, Google Drive, One Drive are still problematic; their implementations do not allow the programmatic access Quine needs to their file stores. I'm not sure if and when those outliers will make the kind of move forward that Dropbox have made to open up access. One can hope.
Cheers - Chris.
