Hi. I wanted to know if there is a way to convert a .3dm file to a windows media player. I want the manufacturer to be able to open the file without rhino and see what the design looks like. Can it be possible to convert it to a .WMV or a similar file so as to be able to see the design from all angles. Thank You
Hi,
I had the same need, and for the ability to take a measurement as well as an added bonus.
Failed to find anything suitable at all, and I did try the suggested option.
Surprised there was nothing at all suitable. Last suggestion was get them to install Rhino !
I have some mp4 video files that are created by KAZAM in Linux. But I need to play those files on Microsoft Windows only by Windows Media Player (for example I can not install VLC media player). Also I can not use any codec. So I think converting propoerties of file (for example format of files) is the only solution. But I do not know which output format is best for video file
Windows Media Player is a default media player for windows computers, and it can handle both video and audio files, which supports the selection of audio formats such as WMA, WAV, and MP3 among others and you can convert to any of the supported audio formats. WMA files are large, and they occupy a lot of space since they are uncompressed. If you want to convert WMA to files with smaller codecs like MP3, you can use a great windows media player, UniConverter to do so.
It has an inbuilt editor to change the settings to your file before converting it, such as modify bitrate, codec, resolution, brightness, and volume. You ca also trim, rotate, crop, and merge files among other editing options.
Launch UniConverter and click the "Add Files" button to choose your WMA file that you want to transform. You can also drag and drop the WMA files to the primary window of the program. You can add various, files to the program and UniConverter will convert them at once.
Select a destination folder to save your converted file and then click "Convert". The program will starting converting WMA to MP3 file. The selected WMA will be, converted in seconds and you can play them in most media players.
Hit the Add Media button, choose Add Video, and add the files for which you want to change the format. Movavi Video Converter supports batch file conversion, so you can select as many files as you want.
Use the software to reduce the size of over-large files. You can find the size of your file in the description and click on it. Specify the size, bitrate, and quality in the box that opens. Hit Convert sample if you want to check the quality of a small part of the file before converting it.
After adding your video files, open the Video tab, expand the MP4 category, and select your preset: you can choose either Original size so that the resolution remains the same or the specific resolution you'd prefer.
MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14) is a container format used for storing video and audio streams. This format provides high compression levels and relatively low quality loss, which makes it one of the most widely used formats on the internet. Over the course of time, MP4 has become a truly universal format and can be played on almost any desktop or portable device.
Blu-ray disc players and recorders, DVD players and recorders. Windows PC, macOS, and Linux (with the help of Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Media Player Classic, or other media player supporting the WMV format)
Both formats have their own pros and cons. MP4 is supported by almost every device and media player. Additionally, MP4 files are smaller than WMV, so you can easily share them online. If you plan to play your videos on a PC, then choose WMV.
I downloaded a .mp4 file from our GoToWebinar presentation, it opens fine from Windows Movies & TV by default. But once I cut out the beginning of the video and convert the file in Adobe Media Encoder using "Match Source", I cannot open the converted .mp4 file. Tried to open from Windows media player, no luck either.
Which version of Premiere Pro and Media Encoder are you using?
Can you import the original .mp4 file and the converted .mp4 file into Premiere Pro and playback properly?
Possibly, converted files are not released from Premiere Pro or Media Encoder. If this is the case, could you quit them and then play in Movies & TV app?
How long is the duration of the source file? Could you post a screenshot of the video export settings, including the bitrate settings and the summary section?
But, ultimately, we may need to take a look into the source file as well as the converted file.
We have a director present the webinar, then GoToWebinar saves a recording of the webinar with the powerpoint slide deck used during the webinar as a video mp4 file. Then I take the mp4 and cut out any jibberish in the beginning where folks go back and forth on muting their microphones...etc. After I cut out the jibberish, I export to MP4 and upload to Vimeo password protected to distributed to other team members worldwide who missed the webinar.
The thing that is interesting is the GoToWebinar mp4 is way small than the mp4 we convert. Not sure what type of compression they use to keep the file so small yet high quality. Perhaps that has something to do with the issue we are having.
I was wondering this could be caused by strange dimensions, aspect ratio, frame rate and etc. I understand you cannot provide the source file. But, could you post a screenshot of the video export settings, including the bitrate settings and the summary section (no need to include the video preview image that you cannot show to others)? It may give some kind of clue here.
