Ihave seen war. I have seen death, the sorrow that encompasses your entire being as a man breathes his last. I can only pray and hope that none of you will ever have to experience some of these things I have seen and felt here.

I have felt fear and have felt adrenaline pump through my veins making me seem invincible. I will be honest and say that some of the things I have seen here are unjustified and uncalled for. However for the most part we are helping this country. It will take more years than most expect, but we will get Iraq to stand on its own feet.

Most of what I have seen here I will never really mention or speak of, only due to the nature of those involved. I have seen a man give his food to a hungry child and family. Today I saw a hospital that most of us would refuse to receive treatment from. The filth and smell would allow most of us to not be able to stand to enter, let alone get medicine from. However you will be relieved to know that coalition forces have started to provide security for and supply medicine and equipment to help aid in the cause.

Surprising we are not a stranger to this sort of attitude. Meaning that in our own country we discriminate against someone for what nationality they are, their education level, their social status. We distinguish our role models as multimillion dollar sports heroes or talented actors and actress who complain about not getting millions of dollars more then they are currently getting paid.

I am not here to preach or to say look at me, because I am just as at fault as the next person. I find that being here makes me realize the great country we have and the obligation we have to keep it that way.

The 4th has just come and gone and I received many emails thanking me for helping keep America great and free. I take no credit for the career path I have chosen; I can only give it to those of you who are reading this, because each one of you has contributed to me and who I am.

However what I do over here is only a small percent of what keeps our country great. I think the truth to our greatness is each other. Purity, morals and kindness, passed down to each generation through example. So to all my family and friends, do me a favor and pass on the kindness, the love, the precious gift of human life to each other so that when your

children come into contact with a great conflict that we are now faced with here in Iraq, that they are people of humanity, of pure motives, of compassion.

Stephen Curry had 25 points and eight assists, Klay Thompson scored 24, and the Golden State Warriors won Wednesday night in their first game back after the death of assistant coach Dejan Milojević last week, beating the Atlanta Hawks 134-112.

Milojević suffered a heart attack last Tuesday night at a team dinner in Salt Lake City and died the next day. Two injured Warriors, Chris Paul and Gary Payton II, wore their jerseys with Milojević on the back all game.

The Warriors went eight days in between games, the first team to go eight or more days without playing in the regular season not including the All-Star break or the stoppage for the pandemic in March 2020 was the 2020-21 Spurs with nine days from Feb. 14-24, 2021, according to Elias.

Kobe Bryant dropped 60 points (!) in the last game of his NBA career, including 15 points in a 17-2 run that closed out the game and gave the Lakers a comeback win over the Utah Jazz. The Golden State Warriors romped over the Memphis Grizzlies at home, winning their 73rd game of the season, breaking the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls record that many thought was untouchable.

Those were all distant memories as Thompson had one of his worst games ever at a big moment, missing all 10 shots he took Tuesday night in a 118-94 loss to the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament that was Thompson's last game before an uncertain summer of free agency.

"Everybody's going to talk about one game," Curry said. "I know he wanted to play better. ... I know he's a true champion. We all prepare ourselves to play our best when the lights are bright. When it doesn't happen, nobody needs to tell you anything.

It was a far cry from his 37-point third quarter against the Kings in 2015 or a 60-point game against Indiana the following season or the 11 3-pointers he hit in the sixth game of the 2016 Western Conference finals against Oklahoma City that helped force a seventh game and an eventual trip back to the NBA Finals.

But Thompson has struggled to get back to that level after missing two full seasons in 2019-20 and 2020-21 with catastrophic injuries to his knee and Achilles. He returned to help Golden State win a fourth championship in this era in 2022 but struggled for long portions of this season.

That ended the final season of a five-year contract worth nearly $190 million and now is set to become a free agent in July. The Warriors must decide how much they are willing to pay a 34-year old whose best seasons are in the past after a pair of serious injuries and Thompson must decide how big a pay cut he's willing to take or whether he'd rather finish his career somewhere else.
