As we integrated and automated, built workflows, created templates, and expanded our community beyond our wildest expectations, we continued to grow. It is through this journey that the monday.com Work OS was born.
Thank you for your question! At this time, monday.com does not have the ability to sync Gmail contacts directly to a board. Currently the way to accomplish this is through an import from Excel. We appreciate the feedback - and I have made sure to raise this need to our development team.
If you wanted to take notes there, you could use a file you hosted in Google Drive, Dropbox, or a similar platform to take notes directly in monday.com. What do you think? You can access it by going to where you would add a new board view, in the upper lefthand corner of your board.
We normally suggest this for people who are working in monday.com but may not being building elements or that are PMs. It will reduce the email notifications but if you look at the very bottom of your profile there are separate notifications for when you are on the monday.com platform. Those we suggest to keep more of if you are actively in the platform.
Monday.com (styled in lowercase as monday.com) is a cloud-based platform that allows users to create their own applications and project management software.[2][3] The product was launched in 2014 and in July 2019, the company raised $150 million, based on a $1.9 billion valuation.[4][5] The company went public in June 2021 and is based in Tel Aviv, Israel.[6]
In June 2020, monday.com released its API to third-party developers. monday.com's open API allows customers, partners or any third-party developer to build on top of the platform and extend its capabilities to fit the needs of different teams and organizations. Common use cases include custom views, dashboard widgets, automations, and integrations with other work apps.[27]
monday.com Work OS is a low-code/no-code work management platform that empowers organizations to connect teams and business units, enhances organizational agility, creates a unifying workspace across departments, and increases operational efficiency and productivity.
You can add subitems to items in monday.com, but have you ever wanted to go further and add subitems to your subitems? Complex projects often require more than one level of subitems to accurately reflect and track your work in monday.com.
Unlimited Subitems lets you extend the native monday.com information hierarchy by adding as many levels of subitems as you need. A visual tree view allows you to explore and modify your extended project structure, so you can accurately reflect the way you organise complex projects in monday.com.
The monday.com Work OS is an open platform that democratizes the power of software so organizations can easily build work management tools and software applications to fit their every need. The platform intuitively connects people to processes and systems, empowering teams to excel in every aspect of their work while creating an environment of
transparency in business. monday.com has teams in Tel Aviv, New York, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, London, Kiev, Warsaw, Sydney, São Paulo, and Tokyo. The platform is fully customizable to suit any business vertical and is currently used by over 152,000 customers across over 200 industries in 200 countries.
The company's 3x yearly customer growth demanded a 2x yearly growth
in engineering. And as fast as kids outgrow their sneakers, monday.com's engineering team outgrew a dev solution that required exhausting ongoing changes to keep up with the accelerated pace of development, deployment and management of complex microservices architecture.
monday.com is secure enough, thanks to being SOC Type II compliant and offering two-factor authentication. The platform offers Google Authentication, IP restrictions and single sign-on options, but be prepared to pay for the more costly Pro and Enterprise plans.
monday.com is a fine project management suite for small businesses. The Standard plan offers everything a small team needs, including kanban boards, calendar views, sharable forms, integrations with communication apps, and unlimited seats, items, boards and docs. Step into the Pro plan and you can add time tracking to the mix, too.
For example, the Individual and Basic plans offer a simple kanban board. The Standard plan adds timelines, calendars and maps, while the Pro and Enterprise plans add Gantt charts and workload views. This level of versatility when it comes to views is why monday.com ranked highly in our roundup of best project management software for multiple projects.
monday.com is a stout piece of project management software, but like so many of its competitors, it becomes even more potent with third-party app integrations. The app marketplace lists Google Calendar, Microsoft Teams, Slack, plus a ton of cloud storage and time-management solutions, collaboration tools and resource management software.
Overall, we have found that monday.com offers pretty competitive pricing; however, we are baffled by the price of the Basic plan, which does not represent a good value for the money. You can find more in-depth details about each project management plan in our monday.com pricing guide.
Project managers who despise working with browser-based software or who travel a lot will enjoy the desktop and mobile versions of monday.com. The desktop client, which is available for macOS and Windows, made it onto our list of best project management software for Windows. The fully featured app provides access to integrations, communication tools and automations.
Compared to other project management tools, monday.com is an easy choice, thanks to its outstanding user interface, wide range of tools and the number of third-party integrations. In addition, customer support is top-notch, training resources are readily available and easy to follow, and security and privacy are more than acceptable.
Originally a work collaboration tool, monday.com has expanded during the past decade to take on various company workflows, including customer relationship management, project management, software development, HR, and marketing. By streamlining and centralizing work, monday.com enables companies to become more efficient and productive.
Like most project management tools, monday.com is best used by professionals with project management experience at businesses in need of unifying communications and investing in making their workforce more efficient.
Our experience exploring monday.com was positive. The interface is intuitive; it has clear labels, built-in tutorials, interactive hover text and an adjustable theme from light to dark. While there are many features and dropdown menus to go through, it gets easier with time.
In addition, the critical data is backed up (Figure E) every five minutes for an added layer of security. And the experienced technical team at monday.com ensures the site remains up and running even with all of the maintenance work in the background.
The most common end users of monday.com are business teams, freelancers, nonprofits, schools and personal users. Startups, students, nonprofits and individuals can benefit from using the free plan to manage projects. Larger and established teams will enjoy the abundance of features such as automation and reporting in higher tiers.
While monday.com offers several different products for varying use cases, this review primarily focused on the monday work management platform. We based our review of this monday.com solution on a combination of hands-on use of the software, product specifications and customer testimonials on third-party sites.
Make tasks satisfying to finish! monday.com is quickly disrupting the old guard with a sleek interface, hundreds of integrations, and dozens of workviews for visually imagining and tracking your projects. More than just project management.
Ease of use is a big thing, and monday.com pm software feels very intuitive and easy compared to ClickUp. However, ClickUp has a huge array of key features to make managing projects much easier, whereas monday.com has less.
For many people, the appealing part of ClickUp is the free version. For those that run small businesses (smaller teams) or individuals looking to manage projects more simply, this works really well without you having to pay anything. (monday.com does offer a free trial if you want to try it out).
For teams with more technical needs, like information technology teams, monday.com is a viable option. Enhanced data and insights capabilities allow IT teams to monitor open support tickets, track employee time, view outstanding tasks, and more.
For HR teams looking to streamline and organize processes, monday.com can be a great option for managing workflows. monday.com offers unique built-in templates to help HR-related projects run smoothly, whether it's onboarding new employees, tracking employee performance, or streamlining recruitment efforts.
