I have been an aviation professional since the early 2000s. I currently hold the following FAA certificates: Certified Flight Instructor (Instrument), Commercial Pilot (for single and multi engine), and UAS Remote Pilot.

I have worked for two of the biggest aeronautical universities in the country (managing flight training programs of up to 500 students and 50 aircraft) and in teaching roles as an adjunct professor. I was also the President of a Part 141 Flight School with 25 employees, 14 aircraft, and 100 students.

Sponsors may request Uniformed Service ID (USID) Card renewal online, which if approved, are mailed directly to the card recipient; no in person appointments necessary. This page provides details on how to renew your USID card online.

In order to fly your drone under the FAA's Small UAS Rule (Part 107), you must obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA. This certificate demonstrates that you understand the regulations, operating requirements, and procedures for safely flying drones.

Step 5: A confirmation email will be sent when an applicant has completed the TSA security background check. This email will provide instructions for printing a copy of the temporary remote pilot certificate from IACRA.

Step 5: Make an appointment with one of the following entities to validate your identity. Bring your completed Form 8710-13, proof of your current flight review, photo ID, and your online course completion certificate.

It is important for all pilots, including Certified Remote Pilots, to keep their aviation knowledge up to date. If you have a Remote Pilot Certificate, you are required to have completed one of the following online training courses within the previous 24 calendar months to operate UAS under part 107:

The 2014 Farm Bill mandated a pilot to test the feasibility of secure online SNAP benefit redemptions with a few pilot retailers before eventual nationwide implementation, later mandated by the 2018 Farm Bill. The pilot launched with several food retailers in New York in April 2019 before expanding to five other States by April 1, 2020. In response to the pandemic, USDA, Food and Nutrition Service quickly expanded the pilot to incorporate additional States and retailers. By the end of September 2020, online SNAP and P-EBT benefit redemption was available in 45 States and Washington, DC. By the end of March 2022, it was available in all States except Alaska.

During this pilot expansion period, the value of online benefits redeemed also grew. From February 2020 (the earliest month for which data are available) through December 2020, 1.7 percent of all SNAP and P-EBT benefit redemptions occurred online. This amounted to $1.5 billion in online redemptions. In 2021, the share of redemptions online nearly tripled to 4.5 percent, and the dollar amount of these redemptions more than quadrupled to $6.2 billion. The share of redemptions occurring online has continued to grow in 2022. From January through March 2022, 5.7 percent of redemptions occurred online, representing $1.9 billion in benefits.

The system is developed to allow online purchasing only by SNAP households with electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards issued by New York for this start of the online pilot project. Online retailers will be limited to delivery in the pilot areas in New York only. Information regarding expansion will be available after this launch is determined successful and other pilot states indicate their readiness to implement.

Amazon and Walmart will participate in the initial pilot launch today with ShopRite joining early next week. ShopRite and Amazon are providing service to the New York City area and Walmart is providing online service in upstate New York locations. Additional retailers are slated to participate in the pilot in coming months. The pilot will eventually expand to other areas of New York as well as Alabama, Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, Oregon and Washington.

The pilot will test both online ordering and payment. SNAP participants will be able to use their benefits to purchase eligible food items, but will not be able to use SNAP benefits to pay for service or delivery charges. For more information, please visit the SNAP Online Purchasing pilot webpage.

The 2014 Farm Bill authorized USDA to conduct and evaluate a pilot for online purchasing prior to national implementation. The pilot phase is intended to ensure online transactions are processed safely and securely. USDA anticipates all eligible and interested retailers who can meet the requirements to process online SNAP transactions will eventually be able to take part, though the timeline is dependent on the progress of the pilot and any regulations which may need to be issued.

The IRS will make Direct File a permanent option for filing federal tax returns starting in the 2025 tax season following a successful filing season pilot and feedback from a variety of partners. The IRS plans to announce additional details on the 2025 expansion in the coming months.

If you received a CP303 Notice after you used an IRS online service, like Direct File, you don't need to do anything, if you accessed this service. Call the number on your notice if you did not access this service.

IRS Direct File was a pilot for the 2024 tax filing season. Following software launch best practices, we started the pilot with a limited number of people to fully test the new service and continuously improved the taxpayer experience.

Using a phased approach meant the pilot was not immediately available to all eligible taxpayers when the IRS began accepting federal tax returns on January 29, 2024. The limited-scale pilot launched its final phase in early March, when it became available 24/7 for eligible taxpayers in 12 pilot states to file their 2023 federal tax returns online for free through the April file deadline.

The Direct File pilot doesn't prepare state returns. However, if you live in Arizona, California, Massachusetts or New York, the Direct File pilot guides you to a state-supported tool you can use to prepare and file your state tax return.

IRS Direct File customer service representatives were available to chat live with one of our customer service representatives Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. Limited weekend hours were available in March and April. There was also an option for a follow up phone call from an IRS assistor when needed.

Our Direct File pilot representatives offered technical support and answered basic tax law questions in English and Spanish. They had no access to individual IRS account data. Questions or issues not directly related to the Direct File pilot were routed to other IRS support channels.

The IRS lets you access most tax tools with one account using the same login and password. For example, if you already have an IRS online account, you can use it for the pilot. If not, you were directed to create an account to verify your identity. Once your identity was verified, you started preparing your return with Direct File.

Only eligible food items normally covered by SNAP can be purchased online with SNAP benefits via an electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card. Delivery fees, driver tips, and other associated charges and/or ineligible items may not be paid for with SNAP benefits online. Individuals will need to use an other method of payment to cover non-allowable items and fees, such as a credit or debit card.

Only FNS has the authority to authorize retailers to accept online SNAP purchases. Retailers that are interested in participating must contact FNS to review the requirements to be added to the program. Requirements include making changes to their website, contracting with a Third-Party Processor for encryption of Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card personal identification number (PIN), ensuring secure transaction processing, and certifying and successfully testing changes to their online shopping site. A full list of the requirements to participate in the OPP can be found on the FNS SNAP Online Purchasing Pilot website.
