1) PASTORAL CANDIDATE VISIT

The candidate for our Lead Pastoral position arrives in
Turlock tomorrow evening. Please make note of times and
places the congregation will be meeting with the candidate
and his family.

~ Cornerstone Seniors Luncheon -- 11:30 a.m., Friday, May
11th, at Hometown Buffet. All seniors are invited. The cost
is $8 per person.

~ All-Church Potluck -- 5 p.m., Saturday, May 12th, at
Cornerstone. Please RSVP to Margery Dwight (667-4609) or
Linda Byrne (667-2474) and let them know how many will be
coming and what you will be bringing.

~ Jr & Sr Hi Connections Hour -- 9 a.m., Sunday, May 13th,
the Pastoral Candidate will be meeting with our youth

~ Worship Service -- 10 a.m., Sunday, May 13th, the
Pastoral Candidate will be our guest speaker.

budget year. Our offerings equal 31% of our anticipated
offering income for the year.

5) UPCOMING EVENTS

~ Chi Alpha (CSU Stanislaus Fellowship Group) Yard Sale --
8 a.m., Saturday, May 19th in our church parking lot. You
may sign up for a free spot to sell your own wares, or you
may bring household items in good condition (no clothing)
to the church from Wednesday, May 16th, to
Friday, May 18th. The Chi Alpha students will use the
proceeds from your donations to help sponsor their
international mission trips this summer. Thanks for
supporting this outreach. Questions: Dhyan Gilton 634-6920.

~ Don & Cat Bosworth visiting -- Winters are cold in
Alaska! We have an opportunity to warm-up our missionaries
so please come to a gathering on Saturday, May 19th, at the
Dockter's home, to listen to their stories and encourage
them with our support and heart-warming fellowship. Call
Katy at 669-1088.

~ Crisis Intervention -- 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, May 23rd, at
Cornerstone. Turlock Police Department Chaplain Dave
Williams will present a short "Introduction To Crisis
Intervention" during the Family Fellowship Dinner Hour. He
will discuss the church's role and response in caring for
people during the first 72 hours following a crisis. All
are welcome! (This will also be the final night of our
dinner gatherings until September.)

~ Graduates Luncheon -- 11:15 a.m., Sunday, June 3rd. All
graduates along with their families and friends are invited
for lunch following the worship service. See Ann McNulty
for details.

~ All Church Going Away Party/Baby Shower -- 11:30 a.m.,
Sunday, June 10th, for Sean & Kerry Curtis and their
soon-to-arrive baby girl. Look for sign-up sheets in the
church foyer soon.

~ Women's Ministries Mission Springs Retreat -- September
18-20 & 21-23. This year's theme is "Matters of the Heart"
featuring gifted speaker Yvonne Devaughn and our missionary
to Columbia, Mary Lou Sander. Register for earlybird rates
through August 15th by going to the Mission Springs web
site: www.missionsprings.com or by calling Karen Chandler,
Mission Springs Registrar @ 559-592-2040.

6) SERVING AS SENDERS
(This comes to us from Katy Dockter, World Missions Chair)

We have the opportunity to help our own missionary family,
Don & Cat Bosworth. They will be home for three months this
October and are in need of a car. Please keep your eyes and
ears open for a car that someone could loan them for the
three months they will be here. Please call Katy Dockter
(669-1088) with your questions and to coordinate this prior
to their homecoming. Thanks!

7) LOOKING FOR HELPERS

We are blessed to have many little ones in our
congregation, in fact five more babies are due over the
next few months! If you would be willing to spend an hour
or two on Sunday mornings every so often "lovin'-on-babies"
in our Nursery or Preschool, please contact Brooke Bernard
or the church office.

We are also in need of more volunteers on the following
teams: Greeters; Scripture Readers; Set-up & Sound; and
Ushers.

Your service in these vital areas are a blessing to all.

9) BOYDSTON PRAYER REQUESTS

These prayer requests come to us from Brad & Cheryl
Boydston, our missionaries to Guam.

1. Betsy is trying to work out housing for the Fall
semester at UC Berkeley.

2. Brad is finishing up the Spring semester, putting
together a Summer class, plus setting up 80+ new computers
at various PIBC locations. Pray for time and workload
management.

3. The Methodist church where Cheryl works is getting a new
pastor in July. Pray for a good working relationship with
this individual.

4) QUESTION & ANSWER TIME

Following the Family Fellowship Dinner Hour tonight at 7
p.m., Anthony Salafia (church chair) will hold a Q & A time
regarding the Pastoral Candidate, Pastor Kevin David, in
the Fellowship Center. All are encouraged to attend.

5) CHI ALPHA YARD SALE
(This comes to us from Dhyan Gilton, Outreach Chair)

A BIG thank you to everyone who donated so generously to
the Chi Alpha Yard Sale. We now have many beautiful items
to sell. We can still use more donations of household items
in good condition (no clothing). Drop off your donations in
the church foyer from Wednesday (today) through Friday, May
18th. And don't forget to come down and shop this Saturday,
May 19th, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a great opportunity
to mingle and get to know our neighbors and CSUS students.

6) UPCOMING EVENTS

~ Jr Hi MGM (Modesto Gospel Mission) -- 6:30 p.m., this
Friday night, May 18th. Please let Pastor Greg know if you
will be serving so he can arrange enough drivers. Thanks!

7) VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL NEEDS

Thank you to everyone who has so generously donated their
time and talents to getting VBS organized this year, as
well as to all of you who have donated craft items. We are
in need of a few more volunteers to complete our VBS
"staff":

~ A storyteller for 3rd & 4th graders - only 15 minute
commitment each night
~ Five more teachers
~ Two preschool workers

Please contact Tance Salafia if you are willing to serve in
any of these crucial areas.
