~ As of last Sunday we were 34% of the way through our
budget year. Our offerings equal 29% of our anticipated
offering income for the year.

4) A VIEW FROM THE CHAIR
(This comes to us from Anthony Salafia, church chair)
Our Search Committee has reviewed a number of pastoral
profiles and has conducted several interviews with senior
pastor applicants. As a result of this process, the search
committee has recommended a candidate to come and meet with
the search committee and the church family. He will be
traveling to Turlock with some of his family on the weekend
of May 12-13. He will have an opportunity to meet with all
of us and to preach at the Sunday service on May 13. I
encourage all of you to mark your calendars for this
important weekend. Details of events will be announced this
Sunday morning.

5) SERVING AS SENDERS
(This comes to us from Katy Dockter, World Missions Chair)
Families from Cornerstone meet reglarly to learn about and
pray for the needs of our own church missionaries: The
Haworths (Japan); The Reeds (Spain); The Boydstons (Guam);
and The Bosworths (Alaska). We meet about every six weeks,
have dinner read about what God is doing in that particular
part of the world or with our particular missionaries. If
you have an interest in one of these families, a desire to
learn more about one of these parts of the world, or a
desire to learn more about what the mission field is like
today, please call Katy Dockter (669-1088) for inforation
about how you can join one of these small, informal and fun
groups.

6) LOOKING FOR HELPERS
We are blessed to have many little ones in our
congregation, in fact five more babies are due over the
next few months! If you would be willing to spend an hour
or two on Sunday mornings every so often "lovin'-on-babies"
in our Nursery or Preschool, please contact Brooke Bernard
or the church office.
We are also in need of more volunteers on the following
teams: Greeters; Scripture Readers; Set-up & Sound; and
Ushers.
Your service in these vital areas are a blessing to all.

8) LOOKING FOR PRAYER PARTNERS
(This comes to us from Katy Dockter, Missions Chair)
Twenty of our Christian neighbors at CSU Stanislaus Chi
Alpha Club are going on an international mission trip this
summer. We are still in need of a few more people
to stand by them in prayer. Please take a prayer card off
the easel in the church foyer and sign your name on the
list to receive updates. Thanks!

9) UPCOMING EVENTS
~ Chi Alpha (CSU Stanislaus Fellowship Group) Yard Sale --
8 a.m., Saturday, May 19th in our church parking lot.
Please bring household items in good condition (no
clothing) to the church from Wednesday, May 16th, to
Friday, May 18th. The Chi Alpha students will take care of
everything else. Thanks for supporting this outreach.

~ Graduates Luncheon -- 11:15 a.m., Sunday, June 3rd. All
graduates along with their families and friends are invited
for lunch following the worship service. See Ann McNulty

~ All Church Going Away Party/Baby Shower -- 11:30 a.m.,
Sunday, June 10th, for Sean & Kerry Curtis and their
soon-to-arrive baby girl. Look for sign-up sheets in the
church foyer soon.
~ Women's Ministries Mission Springs Retreat -- September
18-20 & 21-23. This year's theme is "Matters of the Heart"
featuring gifted speaker Yvonne Devaughn and our missionary
to Columbia, Mary Lou Sander. Register for earlybird rates
through August 15th by going to the Mission Springs web
