1) CORNERSTONE HAPPENINGS THIS SUNDAY – June 10th

3) FYI
~ We are revamping our financial communications through the
CQN. As soon as our financial team works out a few
“kinks,” we will continue to report pertinent information.
Thank you for your sacrificial giving and please continue
to pray how you can partner with Cornerstone with your
Time, Treasure, and Talent during this exciting season of
transition and beyond.

4) PASTORAL CALLING
Praise God!! Following our congregational meeting at which
we voted to call Pastor Kevin to be Cornerstone’s next Lead
Pastor, the Search Committee contacted Pastor Kevin and
extended the call. He accepted the call and now the Search
Committee and Council are working out the final details and
official paperwork. Please be praying for everyone during
this process, and for Pastor Kevin and his family as they
begin preparations for a big move. What an exciting time
for us here at Cornerstone!

5) THANK YOU KAROLE
A HUGE thank you to Karole Palmberg who has served
Cornerstone for the past 11+ years as the Administrative
Assistant. Karole resigned last week for health reasons.
Please be praying for her in this time of change for her
and her family. Also pray for the Council and staff as
they make preparations for a temporary Administrative
Assistant to fill the gap until Pastor Kevin arrives and
can help hire a permanent employee.

6) CHI ALPHA PRAYER PARTNERS
Thanks to all of you who took the name of a Chi Alpha
college student.
Thanks for praying for their preparations. Special dates to
remember for prayer are as follows:

7) SHARED EQUITY OPPORTUNITY
There is an opportunity for Shared Equity Investment with
Pastor Kevin and Linda David in the purchase of a home in
Turlock. Investors will need to be secured within the net
couple of weeks prior to making an offer on a home and to
allow for lender approval. Investors are anonymous. Only
this group equity amount and percentage are disclosed to

8) UPCOMING EVENTS
~Corporate Prayer Time June 6th 6-7 tonight (Wednesday) to
pray together for our individual & corporate needs.
~ All Church Going Away Party/Baby Shower -- 11:30 a.m.,
Sunday, June 10th, for Sean & Kerry Curtis and their
soon-to-arrive baby girl. They are registered at Babies R’
Us. Checks are also a great gift idea since the Curtis
Family is on the move. Details forthcoming. Please come
even if you haven’t signed up. Just bring a salad, side, or
dessert. Lunch will be on the patio after service
~ Open House -- Sunday June 10th 3-4:30pm in celebration of
Riley McCord's final adoption and Dedication! Please join
the Alan and Stacey for dessert and time of celebrating
Riley's adoption. 4215 Tuolumne Ave, Denair, CA.

~June 15th 2:30-5:30pm VBS Fun-Day! 16’ water slide,
Jump-house, cotton candy & popcorn! Bring friends &
register for VBS
~Son Force Kids VBS -- June 24-28th 5:45-8pm Kids ages 4
yrs – 6th grade
~ 4th of July Get-Together – Everyone is invited to the
Gilton’s (2541 E. Canal Drive) at 5:00 p.m. We’ll BBQ hot
dogs and hamburgers, play some pool volleyball, and enjoy
the fellowship of our church family. Around 8:30 pm. We’ll
head over to the Cornerstone parking lot for dessert and
the fireworks show at CSUS. Sign up with Dhyan to bring a
dish (634-6920).
~Women of the church are invited to a baby shower for
Amanda Oppenhuizen on Tuesday, July 10th at 7pm. Dessert
buffet at the home of Ann McNulty. Amanda and Greg are
registered at Baby’s R’ Us and Target.
~ Women's Ministries Mission Springs Retreat – September
18-20 & 21-23. This year's theme is "Matters of the Heart"
featuring gifted speaker Yvonne Devaughn and our missionary
to Columbia, Mary Lou Sander. Register for earlybird rates
through August 15th by going to the Mission Springs web

9) VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL NEEDS
Thank you to everyone who has so generously donated their
time and talents to getting VBS organized this year, as
well as to all of you who have donated craft items. We are
in need of a few more volunteers to complete our VBS
"staff":
~VBS Every Thursday 7-8pm Prayer and planing
~ Mark June 15th for a fellowship swim and BBQ at the
Millers.

10) SERVING AS SENDERS
We have the opportunity to help our own missionary family,
Don & Cat Bosworth. They will be home for three months this
October and are in need of a car. Please keep your eyes and
ears open for a car that someone could loan them for the
three months they will be here. Please call Katy Dockter
(669-1088) with your questions and to coordinate this prior
to their homecoming. Thanks!

11) LOOKING FOR HELPERS
We are blessed to have many little ones in our
congregation, in fact five more babies are due over the
next few months! If you would be willing to spend an hour
or two on Sunday mornings every so often "lovin'-on-babies"
in our Nursery or Preschool, please contact Brooke Bernard
or the church office.
We are also in need of more volunteers on the following
teams: Greeters; Scripture Readers; Set-up & Sound; and
Ushers.
