5) A VIEW FROM THE CHAIR
(This comes to us from Anthony Salafia, church chair)

Our Search Committee has reviewed a number of pastoral
profiles and has conducted several interviews with senior
pastor applicants. As a result of this process, the search
committee has recommended a candidate to come and meet with
the search committee and the church family. He will be
traveling to Turlock with some of his family on the weekend
of May 12-13. He will have an opportunity to meet with all
of us and to preach at the Sunday service on May 13. I
encourage all of you to mark your calendars for this
important weekend.

This has been a diligent and prayerful process that started
in November 2006 when our Search Committee was assembled
and approved by the congregation. This year, the Search
Committee has met frequently and we have received
outstanding direction from our denomination’s Pacific
Southwest Conference. We have done our utmost to keep the
congregation informed, while maintaining the
confidentiality necessary in this process. There is much
more work to be done, but the Lord has allowed us to make
tremendous progress up to this point.

In His Service,
Anthony Salafia

8) COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL
(This comes to us from Aileen Nelson)

Next Sunday, April 22nd, we at Cornerstone will celebrate
Compassion Sunday along with thousands of evangelical
churches across our nation. Child packets will be
available. Please pray about helping a needy child to get
out of a lifetime of poverty. $32 per month and a little of
your love, encouragement and prayers can change the life of
a child. Your blessing for sponsoring is getting three
letters each year from your child and the knowledge you are
being obedient to the call of Jesus to show mercy to the
poor.
