Petrol may be costlier by Rs 2, diesel by Re 1 from February
The government is considering to raise price of petrol and diesel by Rs 2 and Rs 1 per litre respectively, along with some reduction in taxes, to ensure that the consumer does not have to take much of a hit. Petroleum secretary M S Srinivasan said: "A marginal hike is on the cards. The revised price is likely to be effective from next month."
