QuickCursor 2.7
Mac OS X 10.8.2
Chrome 22.0.1229.94
Aquamacs 2.3

I've been using QuickCursor with GMail for a while now, quite happily.
I use GMail's web client (under Chrome) as my normal mail client, and
when composing a message or reply, usually use QuickCursor to do the
editing in Aquamacs. Up until a few days ago this work nicely.

GMail has just introduced a different compose thingie. When I move
stuff to Aquamacs with QuickCursor all continues to work as it should.
However, when coming back (after killing the buffer in Emacs), as
Chrome is brough back to the front, the selection is now torn down
before pasting the stuff from Emacs back in, making a bit of a mess of
things (in the old GMail compose stuff it correctly left the entire
contents of the editing pane selected, so the stuff being pasted in
replaced it; it now instead inserts it into the middle of the old
stuff, since there's no selection left).

Any way to fix this? Perhaps an option could be added for QuickCursor
to reselect the whole pane before pasting or something?

Not sure, it depends on how they've embedded the new compose window (I've been trying to keep it on the old one as long as possible). Will take a look, but if the selection area gets lost then QC doesn't know where and how to paste properly.

Does turning on "Insert at Cursor" help a little to work around this? Instead of copying everything over to Aquamacs, it just starts a new blank file and inserts the content at that point afterwards; this might prevent QC from losing the selection area…

No, I'm afraid it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Nuts. Well, worth a shot and thanks for letting me know. That new compose window has some weird (read: unexpected to me) behaviors…

On reflection I think it is clearly Google's bug.

Start a new message. Select All. Switch to another app with command-
tab. Switch back. The selection's gone. That's just plain wrong.

I've reported it to Google, for all the good I expect that to do.
Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, though I won't hold my breath.

If there's something you can do on your end to make it easier to live
with this sort of behavior, you will at least earn my gratitude!
Thanks!
