I am trying to create a custom symbol but every time I select the Pin opton from the drawing menu I get an error, "Pin error, no packages". How do I create a package?

Have you drawn the symbol's body?
You can also copy a symbol from schematic and edit it.

I drew the body using the lines and arc tools, however I still get the error.

I also tried copying a symbol but the copy strips off the pins

What is your app version?
I just have created a custom component with version 869.
  1. Switch to the components list
  2. Press the new button
  3. Create rectangle
  4. Add a pin

I am using app version 1.7.869. I was trying to create a circuit breaker symbol similar to the Molded Case (Industry, Non-Drawout) one shown here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:BreakerSymbols.svg

I placed the lines and arc first and got the error.

I did just try a blank document and placed a pin first and that has worked.

What is literal text of the error message?

Once i figured out that I could place a pin before any other shapes I got the symbol created. Chalk it up to a learning curve.
