MySQL results via JSON

Please let me know if this is possible using the QC tools. I would
like to create an APP that will call an EXTERNAL WEBPAGE from the APP.
This webpage will be a PHP page that queries a MYSQL database and the
result of the query will be returned converted to JSON and returned to
the APP for processing.

I looked at the JSON example in the download of QC2.0 but I do not
think it is working I am pretty sure that the server is shut down.

Is there another example available?
Is my process feasable or is there another way to access a mysql
database that is external to the App.

What you have described is exactly the way it works. Change the URL of the example to point at your server and modify the code to handle the JSON you get back and you should be good to go.
