I thought that I had posted this to the Quest list about a week ago, but since I haven’t seen it come through I guess that I didn’t. I am sure that some of you have seen it on the other lists that I posted it to, but here it is for those who haven’t seen it…
Although I wasn’t there because of some pinched nerves in my neck, Suki gave me updates regularly.
A couple of weekends ago (Aug 14 and 15th) was our last Flyball tournament prior to CanAm, and Fly was slated to run in a warmup dog position. She did great on recalls, running the pattern, etc on some mat time that we had on friday night, and ran perfectly in her warm-ups on Sat. That was the first time that she ran with other dogs in the other lane in an actual tournament environment. Fly was running beautifully, on the Flat Out Flyers regular division 3 team (20.6 sec seed).
Three races before the end of the Tourney (on Sun) they decided that they needed to have a substitute for one of the dogs in the first heat...and guess who that substitute was - you got it, FLY!!!!!!!!
With Fly in the race, they won the heat with a time of 21.018 sec - a 25 point run, and Fly's FIRST TITLE FD!!!!!!!!!!!!
The dog that Fly was subbing for was able to run the rest of the heats in that race, but the heat with Fly was the fastest of that race...
In the last two races of the day, they had to pull another dog, and Fly was back in. She went on to get another 131 points, so our little green Red tri came home with 156 points as

As of right now it looks like Suki and the dogs will be coming out to CanAm, and Fly is supposed to be running on Sat and Sun.

PS, Word has it that Fly will also be entered in a herding trial toward the end of Oct, and is going to be handled by our herding instructor Joy. Joy told me several weeks back that if we are going to have her handle Fly that she won't be starting her out in started since she is already doing some considerably more advanced work...
Congratulations to you, FLY and Suki!!! It sounds as if she is doing a great job on all fronts!
