I have several wireless keyboards and mice that were separated from their mini USB devices. Now I can't use these keyboards and mice. Is there a way to get another connector? Or am I forced to trash these perfectly good keyboards?

My Dell keyboard and mouse are not Bluetooth. They used a mini USB connector. Is it true that each wireless keyboard and mouse are programmed to an individual USB? So if I lose the USB, the keyboard is useless, right? I think that is such a waste of a perfectly good keyboard! I'm trying to contact Dell right now but it's hard to navigate their website to leave my questions. I'll keep trying.

my dell keyboard and mouse not working when i connect dell wireless usb in my laptop usb port then connecter is heat automatically and i can't use mouse and keyboard so please give me soluation. i have all driver installed.

I contacted Dell recently and they still do not sell the separate unifying receiver. It looks just like the Logitech receiver but not sure if they are interchangeable. Has anyone had any luck with a Logitech receiver on Dell mouse and keyboard?

I had my laptop stolen with the receiver plugged into it and now have a KM714 keyboard and mouse with no receiver and dont quite know if I can still use them or are they now useless. No luck on any websites ie Dell or Logitech for any support or answer to my question.

Dell has a file that lets you install a control panel so you can pair up to 6 wireless components to your computer this is especially goof if you have lost your dongle, I downloaded this file myself tonight an easily installed a new dongle that I got from eBay seller, and also they can be found on amazon

2. It has a slot to store your usb dongle in when you are on the move, keeping it from sticking out and braking as you drag it in and out of your bag, drawer, what have you. Or worse, twisting your USB internal port to non-compliance with your motherboard!

Is there a way to replace the USB Receiver? The keyboard seems like an Chinese OEM brand called Weibo WB-8068 and there's no way I can find anything about it - from their website to other information

From my own experience (which is limited when it comes to dongles) there are usually two types. Bluetooth - but they rarely come with a dongle and a 2.4Mhz (if memory serves) transmitted that uses an unlicensed band for all sorts of things including wireless internet and cordless phones.

The receivers *seem* fairly generic and appear as a human interface device/keyboard to the computer but will pretty much latch onto any keyboard broadcasting in range of about 6-10 feet (a couple of metres but YMMV).

I would suggest the best place to look is eBay and hope you can find a dongle-driven wireless keyboard from a manufacturer no one ever heard of that someone is selling for parts. Given the low cost of these things you'd be hard pressed to find a unicorn like that.

@marcdraco I thank you for the reply! I must ask, would a cheap OEM wireless mouse with the dongle receiver possibly work? This keyboard supposedly comes with a wireless mouse and they use a single dongle. From what I can understand from your comment, a dongle from a wireless mouse would suffice, right? Also, eBay isn't available in my place as it's expensive and takes longer, so I looked at Philippine Online Markets (i live at Philippines)

Unlikely a mouse dongle would work as the USB side of things is telling Windows it's a cordless mouse transceiver and the radio side is getting data (which it will likely ignore) from the keyboard. It's been a while since I tinkered but I have seen dual-mode transceiver dongles that act as a combined device. I was about to say "plug the dongle in to check" but then D'UH! If the dongle can work a mouse or a keyboard then it will be able to do both simultaneously.

If you can at least *browse* eBay (American, Australian and European English sites are good) you might well find the information you need but if the receiver was a dual-mode HID (mouse/kb) then you'd need the same. There is a fancy word that I should know for multiple USB devices in in a single device identifier but I'll be DIYed if I can remember it. (It'll come to me in bed, you watch!)

Annnnnd... I did "unifying" (uni = one, you see?) and that one does come with the USB dongle inside the mouse. I assume you didn't just leave it in there? (I've done it... with my unified keyboard and trackpad, no less!)

Contact the Manufacturer: If you have the product details like the model number (Weibo WB-8068) or any other identifying information, try reaching out to the manufacturer's customer support. They may be able to provide you with a replacement USB receiver or offer alternative solutions.

Universal USB Receiver: Some wireless keyboards and mice can work with a universal USB receiver. These receivers are designed to work with multiple devices from the same brand. Check if your keyboard supports this feature and purchase a compatible universal receiver.

Third-Party USB Receivers: In some cases, you might find third-party USB receivers that claim to work with specific wireless keyboards. However, compatibility cannot be guaranteed, so make sure to check reviews and do some research before buying.

Bluetooth: If your keyboard has Bluetooth capability, you might be able to connect it directly to your computer or device without a USB receiver. Check the user manual or look up online instructions on how to pair the keyboard via Bluetooth.

Replacement Keyboards: Unfortunately, if none of the above options work, you might have to consider getting a replacement keyboard. Losing the USB receiver could render the current keyboard unusable, especially if it's not compatible with any other receiver or doesn't have Bluetooth.

Since you mentioned that the keyboard is from a Chinese OEM brand and information is scarce, it might be more challenging to find specific solutions. However, I hope the options provided above can help you resolve the issue or find a suitable alternative. Good luck!

"The Microsoft Wireless Desktop 900 operates only through the USB dongle which is uniquely paired. Dongles are uniquely and securely bound or programmed to the mouse or the keyboard and are sold as a matched set. Because of the secure binding or programming, we are unable to provide a replacement dongle that would work with the mouse or keyboard."

I lost my USB receiver for my wireless HP keyboard and mouse that came with my desktop. Is there any way to get a replacement receiver or is there another option? I love this keyboard and mouse and don't want to get rid of it.

Are the keyboard and mouse useless now? or will any bluetooth dongle allow them to work?If I can just buy a new one - any recommendations on a replacement (good price, and perhaps works with Windows and Ubuntu out-of-the-box?

Some time ago the cable from my video card get lost. I wrote to the manufacturer on Taiwan to ask about the pin wiring, to build the new cable myself. I got response "Sure, we can tell, but wouldn't it be easier if we just send you new cable?".

This is completely wrong. Wireless keyboards and mice like OP's use RF technology and they are paired with the receiver at the factory. You can't just use any RF receiver. That's why you don't have to pair it manually when you plug it in like you do with Bluetooth.

The info on the compatibility issue with USB receivers was helpful and I appreciate your taking the time to respond but I have yet to receive a way to purchase a new one without buying the whole package again.

Factory support was . . . shal I say - non-supportive. I was passed around to different departmenst and no one was able to help. I was passed around until I was connected to the original department I started with. I got frustrated and gave up on the factory.

Logitech uses a proprietary micro USB receiver they call a "Unifying" receiver. It can sync with any of their wireless mice or keyboards. You can also buy a replacement or spare receiver on Amazon at a reason price so you can quickly move a wireless mouse to another laptop. It will not work with any other manufacturers devices. I only plan to buy Logitech in ther future unless the other vendors change thei policies to allow easy and economical replacements for lost or broken receivers.

Have you checked inside the battery compartment where there is a subtle, easy-to-miss, easy-to-forget, slot for the nano receiver so you don't lose it when it is unplugged? Designed exclusively (IMHO) so you can feel smug when you put it in the storage slot, then feel absolutely stupid when you realise later after much searching and cursing that you put it in the storage slot.

I have had a recently bought a small wired USB mouse for $4 at a large department store. Now I have this in my Laptop bag. Main advantages is there are no batteries to go flat and a wireless mouse is free now for use with the television set android box from the couch.

Me too, my Razer Atheris (apart from being an amazing mouse) is bluetooth and also has a 2.4 dongle. So you can switch betweem the two modes. I have noticed on occasion that bluetooth will lag when I have a headset connected as well as the mouse. Mouse+Keyboard no problem but Mouse+Headset seems to act weird.

I understand that you may be busy and probably a lot of other supporting requests have been made, however, as I am positive that my two Corsair devices should be replaced (or at least the WIFI dongles) - please kindly advise/solve.

Following the opening of two supporting ticket (+ me being less impatient than usual) Corsair support team has started to look into my issues and as a result I will receive the replacement (keyboard) on this coming Friday. I have already received a replacement dongle for my mouse. There was a need to update the mouse (and the dongle) firmware knowing that this could potentially lead to the double-click (also) known issue. It did not happen.
