Fwd: Get active in the fight against facism! (Could someone please look this over and approve it)

Happy Fall Folks! 

I wanted to let you know of some ways you can get active in the community as many folks tell they want to do something but don't know what steps to take.. First I want to invite everyone to join me in coming to the Statehouse with Never Again Action to demand that Governor Raimondo stop working with ICE and ban for profit prisons in RI. I've posted the event page below but in case you don't have a facebook here are the details followed by some ways you can still get active if you cant make the event: 

"For months, Jews, immigrants, and allies have been following AMOR's lead and calling for #ShutDownWyatt. Our elected officials have yet to join our call, so we’re coming to them.

We will occupy the statehouse to call on our leaders to:
#ShutDownWyatt and ban private prisons
Work to release people detained by ICE at Wyatt
Ban all local and state collaboration with ICE

As Jews, we know what happens when a group of people is targeted, dehumanized, rounded up, and taken to concentration camps. We will not be bystanders as our neighbors are torn from their families and caged. We demand leadership from Rhode Island elected officials in advancing dignity and protection for our undocumented siblings.

This action coincides with the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, when Jews commemorate 40 years spent migrating in the desert. We are using this moment to call for safety for our community from ICE’s tyranny, and to call on our leaders to join us in celebrating protection and dignity for all.

We are a movement of Jews, immigrants, and allies committed to the fight for immigrant justice. Because when we say Never Again, we mean it.

ICE Is targeting families here in RI and they are housing detainees at the Wyatt Prison. Never again is now. Never again is here. Even if you cant come to the statehouse tomorrow afternoon there are lots of ways to get involved!

Also AMOR is making mental health gift baskets and are in need of supplies here is more info about what they need: 

ACTION STEPS YOU CAN TAKE RIGHT NOW: 

-Invite all your friends and family to come to the event either by the event page or by word of mouth. 

-Post the event on your newsfeed. 

-Share the event in groups you think would be interested.

-Call governor raimondos office and let her know we don't want ICE in our state and we need to get rid of all for-profit prisons. You can call her office and leave a message here:
