LISTEN UP! This is VERY IMPORTANT because we're about to mess with you.  (You like that. Don't you.)

You know how Thanksgiving and Christmas are usually at the end of the month? And how Queer Open Mic is ALSO usually at the end of the month?

Well. Just to check a theory, we staged a "Christmas vs. QOM" and a "Thanksgiving vs. QOM" death match battle, and in both of them, QOM lost.  So rather than let some crazy turkey and a chimney-peeping dude dressed as a crimson furry RUIN QUEER OPEN MIC, we decided to just move it.

For November and December, Queer Open Mic will fall on the THIRD friday of the month.

And guess what?  The third Friday of November is THIS WEEK.  So get your bells on, and shimmy down to Modern Times cuz I have hugs for you!

xo,
Sarah

November 19th: Queer Open Mic with Tatyana Brown

It’s that time again. Costumes have gone and the Big Holidays, with their candles and their jingle bells, are coming. We’ve only got a few weeks to breathe in between, and to take stock, and – if we’re to follow tradition – give thanks.

There’s something tremendously affirming, especially in a somewhat stressful season, in saying Thank You. Thank you sky, thank you world, thank you family and chosen family, thank you walking-feet and loving-heart, thank you tongue and lips for the gift of speech, thank you mind and thank you brain. Thank you to the new person in your life who made all the difference, thank you to the friend who was there all along, thank you for the moment of epiphany in the bath or the coffee shop, thank you for walking on the beach when there’s nobody there at all.

To let you gather with the people you gather with (or simply with yourself) we’re a week early this month, so why not come and share your Thank Yous with us on the third Friday, November 19th?

It’s November. What are you grateful for?

(And what is our bold and wonderful guest grateful for? Don’t you wanna find out? We sure do…)
