Hello QCT Team!
I hope everyone had a lovely closing of 2012 is feeling all the good energy of 2013! I know I am feeling refreshed!
As we are starting a new year I hope everyone is getting their minds on track for the vision we have created for Queer Central Time 2013! After reviewing the meeting notes from last time I see that we had planned to have our next meeting for January 16th. I would like to propose we move that meeting back a week so that the teams have a chance to meet and work on their selected tasks. This would mean our next group meeting would be Wednesday, January 23rd. Team and task leaders are the only ones expected to attend this meeting in order to report back on what the teams have been working on to make next steps, but everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Joe Varisco will be the facilitator and if anyone would like to volunteer to co-facilitate that would be great. We also need a location.
Also during our break Grace was able to communicate with Madsen Minax about creating a budget for the festival. Madsen informed us that to create an accurate projected budget we need to have a clear picture of our expected expenses and this relies heavily on a festival schedule so that we know how many performers will be expecting to pay, venue/equipment expenses, tech help, etc. This was the main reason for delaying the proposed logistics meeting since it dawned on me that we should have this information before we start discussing venues as well. duh!
In order to create a festival schedule I propose the Logistics Team and Content Team have a joint meeting. Here is the meeting time proposal, please select all the times that are good for you:
This still means that the Media Team needs to meet in order to establish roles and begin the logo and promotional materials. The Content Team will also need to have a seperate separate meeting to write the call for work and develop an outreach strategy. If the team leads could send out time proposals for meetings, that would be fantastic!
Also, if you know of folks who would be great for certain roles please have a one-on-one with them and catch them up to speed (or give me their contact info and I will gladly meet with them) and make sure they get in touch with the team leads for their area of interest.
