Hello QCT - I'm very sorry that I won't be able to attend the meeting tonight but wanted to share a few thoughts.
- I have concerns about the scale and time frame of the festival, in terms of doing it right with the capacity of the organizers. If we want a large scale festival that people will actually know about and attend, I'm concerned that 6-8 months is not going to be enough time to get everything done (including the ever important fundraising!). Just like to put a friendly query out as to if having a large scale festival with headliners such as those mentioned on the other thread is truly feasible this year or if we should either 1) focus our efforts on a limited number of Chicago local and do a small-scale festival this go round and shoot for the larger vision next year or 2) push the festival back to 2014 and leave the scale as is.
- I also wanted to suggest that perhaps we could have group workdates where we get together and work on our various items for the festival, I know we are all very busy and I've found it's easier and more effective to block out a few hours with friends/organizers to tackle projects at least in the same space, even if you aren't collaborating on the exact same aspect of the project. Just a thought.
-I also just wanted to be respectful about this space and check-in about my capacity. I'm not going to be able to be present at every meeting because Monday and Wednesday nights are generally dedicated family time, Tuesdays and Thursdays I have choirs, so my time is limited. I wish to remain involved and active of course, but if you don't see my face at every meeting that is why.
Sending love and positive energy - wishing you all the best tonight!
