Hello!
In our last meeting, concerns were raised that have directed us to look at the foundation and direction of this project. Listed here are some of these concerns we discussed. Moving forward, we would like your input: below is a poll for you to do so.
Concerns:
· The need for wider representative of different queer and trans* communities in Chicago with the capacity to commit time and energy to this project.
· More input from community members about the goals of this project and how they can take shape
· Having an organizing process that is accessible and open for participation and input: looking for examples on how to have meetings differently.
- With all these concerns we then re-evaluated the timeline and agreed a more realistic goal would be to
offer support to people already doing great work. This would allow us to build awareness of the event and reach a wider group of interested people
to create a one day event in the fall of 2013 as a jump start/ fundraiser for a larger 3 day event in 2014
Next Steps:
· To get a poll from folks involved thus far in this project even just from the level of being interested and aware of this happening
· Using the feedback given in the poll to influence our outreach and planning
· Intentionally recruiting more organizers and input from different queer and trans* communities in Chicago and midwest
We will be meeting Sunday April 7th at 5pm. Dinner (vegan) will be served. 2045 N Albany (Armitage and Albany)
Thank you,
Grace
Reminder for Sunday.
