4) Meditation at QSY
Now with two teachers, Kunga and Nancy! Please see the website bio page to learn more about them.

Drop-in By Donation Mediation Class with Kunga:
Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm starts September 8th
In this class we start with very simple body warm up exercises, followed by a twenty five minute silent meditation sitting. Afterwards we enjoy some tea while discussing the path of meditation, and learning new ways to incorporate our meditation practice in our daily lives. The cost of this class is by donation, we recommend $5-10.

Intro to Buddhist Meditation with Kunga:
Tuesdays 7:00-8:00pm September 15th-November 3rd  $90
In this eight week course we will be learning techniques of Buddhist meditation to help bring ourselves towards a state of peace and happiness, independent of external circumstances. These practices have been used for centuries to help people to observe the habit patterns of their mind and learn how to change negative patterns into positive ones. The practice of metta (or loving kindness) is emphasized in this course to transform one's heart in relation to oneself and others. We will cover not only the mental aspects of meditation, but also the physical and environmental factors that are involved in the practice.

Beginning Meditation (secular) with Nancy:
Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 September 16th-November 4th  $90
This eight week course is the perfect introduction to meditation for stress reduction, awareness, or spiritual practice. It will provide a special emphasis on working with difficult states of mind such as sadness, anger and fear. Learn simple techniques such as focusing on the breath, body scan and body awareness as well as tips on how to begin and sustain a meditation practice.

BodyMind Meditation with Nancy:
Wednesdays 7:30-8:30pm October 7th-December 2nd  $90
Fridays 12-1:00pm October 9th-December 4th  $90
An eight week class in meditation using tools such as body scan, focus on body sensation and the principles of Body Mind Centering. This course is designed to take you out of the busy thinking mind into the felt, somatic sense of the feeling body.

5) Buteyko Breathing Workshop with Chris Bauman
Wednesday, Sept 30th, 7:30-9:30pm  $30
Breathing Workshop for Health and Fun: a two hour workshop for those interested in a fun and playful way to improve their general health, fitness and well-being. 8) Beginner Drop-in
Are you injured, or just feeling out of practice and want to ease back in?  Please join Meaghan for the Beginner Drop-in class on Tuesdays at 5:30.  This class does not progress as the Intro courses do, it is always at a beginner level. It will address specifically the needs of the individuals in the class.  This is also a great class for people new to Yoga. The Restorative classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays are also gentle classes where the body can heal and rest.

9) Intro to Yoga Courses
An eight week course where you will learn the fundamentals of Yoga, preparing you for our Level 1 classes. $100, space is limited, please call or email to register. There are many starting in September and October, please see the website. And please pass this info on to any friends or family you think would be interested in the course!

10) YTT and Workshops with Hart
Ok, there is this buzz of excitement with the upcoming Yoga Teacher Training starting in the fall!  So please know that once a month, the studio will be a bit busier, but classes will run as usual! Also, there are two or three spots open in each of the weekends with Hart, if you would like to join us for one of them.

11) QSY Teachers
We wanted you to know that the reason that there are so many schedule changes this fall is that many of our teachers' personal schedules are changing to accommodate the new challenges they are taking on!  So we thought we let you in on what we are up to!

Anna-Marie will be attaining her Masters in counselling.
Brad is going to school for Massage Therapy.
Tyandra is doing her school placement to become a teacher.
Meaghan will be co-teaching with Kristin and Hart the Yoga Teacher Training program here at QSY.
Lindsay will be doing the continuing ed portion of the YTT with Hart.
Leena is continuing her Anusara Yoga studies in weekend intensives.
Kunga is just returning from weeks of assisting at a Vipassana Mediation retreat centre, following his global travels.
Nancy and Julie are both expanding their teaching schedules here at the studio!

12) Noah Levine in Toronto
New Leaf Yoga Foundation is presenting Noah Levine in October in Toronto. Noah is the author of two acclaimed books including "Dharma Punx." His ideas and approach to teaching are not only unique and inspirational, but accessible to even an absolute newcomer to Buddhist thought and meditation.  Don't miss this exciting opportunity to study with Noah during his very first trip to Toronto! October 17th, 2009. For more info, visit http://newleafyoga.org/news.htm

Whew!  Thanks for making it to the end.
