Victoria Day Weekend
We are open for the full regular schedule for the May 24th weekend!  If you have Monday off, you could drop in to the 9:30am class with Leena!  Enjoy the effects of your Yoga practice all day long!

Meaghan's Sabbatical
I will be taking a short teaching sabbatical for the months of May and June.  Looking forward to finishing up the YTT program, focus on my practice, and take some time for rest.  I feel good about leaving you in the capable, creative and caring hands of Brad, Lindsay and Kymberley in my absence.  Even though I will miss you, and miss teaching, I am excited to see how we all grow, you with the experience of a different teacher, sharing their wisdom and passion, and me taking this time to grow in Yoga and Meditation without sharing the juice for a little while.

I will see you all in July, refreshed and ready to teach again. Just in time for our two month unlimited special! If you need to be in contact with me over these two months, I am free for a limited amount of private lessons, please contact me through the studio and Lindsay will pass along the email or call.

Schedule Changes
Brad will be teaching the Restorative Yoga class on Wednesdays at 6pm and the Level 2 on Tuesdays at 7:30pm.
Lindsay will teach the Level 1-2 on Mondays at 5:45pm.
Kymberley will teach the Level 1 on Mondays at 7:45pm.

Other changes for May:
Runner's Yoga will be put on hold until September.
The Thursday 5:45pm Level 1 class with Catherine is canceled for the time being.

In this playful workshop we’ll look at all the steps to turn your world upside down in a safe and empowering way! You will learn techniques and poses to:

* Strengthen the upper body for greater confidence
* Prevent injury and compression in the wrists and shoulders
* Open the hips for kicking up
* Kick up successfully
* Balance from the wall
* Rest the arms, shoulders and legs well afterwards

Being able to do a handstand already is not a prerequisite for this workshop; however, 3-6 months of consistent yoga study and confidence with downward-facing dog pose is recommended. The workshop will emphasize a progressive approach celebrating and enjoying each part of the journey, no matter your previous experience with the pose.

6) Introducing Kymberley
Kymberley will be taking over the Monday night Level 1 class and I am really happy to have her on the teaching staff at QSY.  I have studied dance with Kymberley, and find she has a sweet caring approach to teaching that always made me feel capable, while challenging me at the same time. Here is her bio, but the best way to get to know her is to come and try a Monday night class!

Kymberley's love for yoga has lead her to expand her practice to involve yoga instruction to adults and children alike. After completing a 200 hour yoga teaching certification Kymberley has had the privilege of offering yoga to a wide range of students in local studios and gyms throughout Waterloo and Kitchener. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts in contemporary dance from Concordia University, and a Master of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier in communication studies, it has been beneficial to augment her education with a teaching certification in Kripalu yoga, a style known for inner reflection and physical discipline. This training has allowed her to be immersed in an understanding of how the mind and body influence each other through the creative process, influencing her choreography and teaching style in both dance and yoga. Kymberley is excited to continue her study of yoga through a second 200 hour course, facilitated by Meaghan Johnson and Kristin Honey, under the tutelage of Hart Lazer.

7) Ken McLeod Meditation Retreat: Relationship and Conflict
Ken McLeod, author of Wake Up to Your Life, and meditation teacher of many of the QSY teachers, will be teaching right here in Waterloo in June!  It is hosted by the Waterloo Riverview Dharma Centre.  Please check out their website at http://www.wrdharmacentre.com/events.html This is an amazing opportunity to study with an incredible teacher right here at home.  And the price is amazing, a $100 registration fee plus whatever donation you can give.
