This is a little mid month mini newsletter because we really wanted to share with you some of the experiences of the participants of the last workshop of this nature that Hart led in Guelph. Please read on and pass this on if there is anyone you know would benefit from this work.

In this workshop, which he now calls The Courage to Feel, Hart combines meditation, movement and reflection in a way that builds our capacity to touch and be with all the experiences in our lives, including those we deem unfavourable or adverse.

The Yoga portion of the workshop is personal, less a led class structure and more exploratory and movement oriented, allowing people with a wide range of yoga experience to attend.  This workshop provides a unique opportunity to bring together several practices as options or tools for experiencing our interior world.

Take a few moments to share in the experiences of a few past participants of this workshop:

"This was a wonderful workshop for me, and i will definitely be attending it again.   The format was very individualized and I left having learned some key information about myself and how i operate.  It's really a workshop that anyone would find useful!"

"I tend to be very 'cerebral' both at work and in my personal life, and wake up every now and then wondering how the world has passed me by. Meditation and yoga seems to shake me out of this.  The very first thing I noticed Hart's workshop is how much rest my brain got, eventhough I was working that week. And then, how it had softened and opened me up to myself and the world around me.  I got together with my sister and parents the day after the workshop, and remember being able to understand them without the need for a conversation. I remember feeling intense sorrow at their inability to understand me, and how acutely aware everyone was about all of this."

"It was through Hart sharing his knowledge and personal experience (by way of talks and exercises) within the safe structure and intentional focus of the workshop that I gained a deeper sense of awe and compassion for my body's capacity to both hold and release memories; whether joyous or difficult/not so joyous. This intensive workshop helped me to deepen my awareness of how my mind and my body respond to difficult/stressful (emotional), and traumatic (physical injury) situations.  On many occasions since the workshop I have noticed that I naturally let go of my mind's desire to control, going inward in observation to allow my body in it's wisdom to respond to an experience fully and release it. In essence because of this work I am able to more freely let go and have compassion in all aspects of my life."

"In a word, 'empowering'! I especially like the sequencing where you do a pose that's difficult, then one you enjoy, etc., etc. I think about that concept often, especially when the going gets tough. I practice this type of sequencing sometimes in my home practice as well, ending with doing a difficult-for-me pose as best as I can, and then stopping, instead of trying it again.  Leaves me feeling positive about the experience and empowered to do it again in my next practice.  I am looking forward to taking this workshop again, plus the successor in February!"

If you have any questions or wish to register, please call or email soon as space is limited.

Meaghan
