3. Yom Kippur Service Information

The Yom Kippur holiday and fast day begin this Tuesday night, September 24th. As with Rosh Hashana, three different services will be held in Kingston, and students are welcome at all of them:

    a) Beth Israel Congregation: www.kingston-bethisrael.ca

    b) Chabad Student Centre: http://www.facebook.com/groups/147960175215668/

    c) Iyr Hamelech Congregation: www.reformjewishkingston.ca

In addition, please find attached a candle lighting calendar for all of this month's remaining holidays.

REMINDER: do you have class on the High Holidays but wish to go attend services? Be sure to talk to your professors and TAs ASAP to let them know, as most should happily accommodate your request. If you encounter any issues or have any questions, let us know by emailing queenshillel@queenshillel.com

4. Break the Fast with Hillel and Chabad! - Wednesday, September 26th at 8:00 PM

After a long day of fasting, come enjoy some bagels, lox, salads, and kugels to regain your energy. This year's breaking of the fast is a joint effort from Hillel and Chabad, but will take place at Chabad's new facility. It is located above the bookstore Novel Idea at 156 Princess Street, but please find the entrance on Bagot Street.

For more information, see our Facebook event: http://www.facebook.com/events/387823411290427/

5. Interested in Film? Creating Claymation?

Our Israel Fellow Eliya Eizerikoyva has tons of experience in film and media, and would love to work with anybody interested on a short claymation film for Sukkot! Don't know what claymation is? Here's a good example, made by Eliya this year in the spirit of Rosh Hashana.

You don't need any experience in filmmaking, just the willingness to learn and have fun. If you're interested, please reply to queens...@gmail.com, or message Eliya, and we will find a time prior to Sukkot to begin working.

6. Program Coordinator Position with the Kingston Jewish Council

The Kingston Jewish Council is seeking a Program Coordinator for the school year of 2012-2013. This is a part-time, contract position to develop, organize, and deliver innovative programming to our local Jewish community. The Program Coordinator will be a dynamic, enthusiastic, and creative individual with knowledge of Jewish culture and skill in program development and leadership. The position will require up to 480 hours of work spread over the 10-month period of September 2012 to June 2013.

Apply by submitting your resume to Leonard Harris. You can contact him at harr...@kingston.net613-547-9814 (work), or 613-546-9036 (home) for more information.
