First of all, Queen's Hillel would like to thank everyone who came out to this year's Bar Mitzvah Bash! The event was a huge success, and we all had a blast!
Special thanks to the social committee and everyone else who helped out with the event!

To get an idea of what to look for in our candidates, here are the major duties of the executive and board officers:
President
? Officially represent Hillel
? Is responsible ex-officio for all public relations of Hillel
? Preside at all Hillel meetings
? Coordinate all activities of Hillel
? Delegate Presidential duties as necessary to other Executive officers, or general members
? Organize the year's Executive
? Must have served minimum of one year on Executive.
? Represent Hillel on relevant university and AMS bodies
? Maintain positive relations with Israel on Campus, Jewish Law Students' Association, Chabad, Beth Israel, Iyr HaMelech, Kingston Jewish Council, Alpha Epsilon Pi, and any other like-minded organizations that emerge in the Kingston community.
Vice President, Internal
? Assist president in overseeing Hillel and the Executive
? Assist the President in all major decision making
? Assume the role of the President in his/her absence in conjunction with the
? Vice-President External
? Assist the President and other officers in coordinating Hillel activities
? Responsible for operational matters related to Hillel
? Responsible for overseeing smooth logistical running of events (set-up, during, and clean-up of events)
? Responsible for overseeing Social Programming Chair, Active Programming Chair, and Shabbat & Kashrut Chair
? Must have served minimum of one year on Executive
Vice-President, External
? Assist president in overseeing Hillel and the Executive
? Assist the President in all major decision making
? Assume the role of the President in his/her absence in conjunction with the Vice-President Internal
? Responsible for weekly electronic communication to Hillel members, as well as producing the Hillel newsletter and any other publications
? Shall serve as Webmaster, and will update the Hillel website when necessary
? Responsible for overseeing Tzedek Chair, Education Chair, and Membership & Outreach Chair.
? Responsible for booking rooms for Hillel events
? Responsible for re-applying for club space, re-ratification, signing up for clubs nights and all Orientation Week events
? In charge of forming and maintaining relationships with the Queen's and Kingston communities and other campus clubs.
? Must have served minimum of one year on Executive
Vice-President, Finance
? Assist president in overseeing Hillel and the Executive
? Assist the President in all major decision making
? Manage the Hillel budget, bank account, cheque book, and financial records
? Maintain contact with Hillel Director and Queen's Hillel Advisory Board with regard to the status of the account
? Draft budgets proposed before each semester and enforce it throughout year
? In a report, summarize first semester spending and predict second semester budget for biannual community meeting
? Responsible for training Financial Apprentice to assume role in following term
? Prepare applications for AMS club grants and other funding sources
? Responsible for overseeing money collection and membership dues at front door of Hillel house before each event, in conjunction with the Membership & Outreach Chair and Financial Apprentice

3- HILLEL CANADA PRESENTS: "CELEBRATE JEWISH LIFE IN VIENNA - PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE"
This event is an educational and inspirational Jewish trip for interested students into the heart of Europe: Vienna. Students will spend eight meaningful days in Vienna, visiting Jewish sites, synagogues, and museums, and speaking with prominent members of the Viennese Jewish Community. They will explore the city, see the famous parks, visit City Hall, and enjoy cultural attractions within Vienna, and will leave the city to visit Mauthausen Concentration Camp and to see the beautiful City of Vienna on a bicycle ride.
The trip will take place May 16 - 24, 2012. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Jewish Welcome Service of Vienna accommodations, meals, tourist attractions, museum admissions and all ground transportation will be covered; students are only responsible for arranging and paying airfare to and from Vienna.
Registration deadline is March 16, 2012.

4- SHABBAT DINNER - Friday, March 16th
The time has come again! Hillel's second last Shabbat dinner of the year is coming up NEXT FRIDAY!
We know you all love the home cooked chicken, meatballs, veggies, kugels, salads and BROWNIES!
Hope to see you all there!
As always, dinners are free for members and $10 for non-members.

5- ISRAEL ON CAMPUS (IOC) UPDATE
Interested in Israeli affairs? Israel on Campus aspires to provide a voice for the Jewish state at Queen's. The club brings to light Israel's achievements and contributions to the global community, as well as her historical commitment to peace. IOC strives to bring to the forefront the shared values that bind Israelis and Canadians together, and promote lasting peace between Israel and its neighbours.
