The first Cleves Time Trial of 2026 is now in the books! Tuesday evening saw two hardy souls get a head start on their quest to be crowned winner of the award for the MOST Cleves TT rides in 2026.
The weatherman promised it would be wet and he did not disappoint. But Eli Banish did not drive all the way from his home in Rabbit Hash to let a few raindrops stop him. In his very first attempt at Cleves, Eli turned in a time of 22:07, the 3rd fastest time
ever for an 18 year old rider. (Eli’s coach sent him to Cleves as he continues to train for the National's!).
Only Spencer Petrov, a local Lionhearts rider, and Will Frischkorn, an eventual Tour de France rider, turned in better times at that age! (See below)
No kudos for Jonathan since he didn’t have to get wet while riding in his completely enclosed HPV! 😊
It is my intent this year (if people are interested) to provide some historical data or fun facts with the results each week. My sincere thanks to Andy Jones who maintains the Cleves Master file and has been lately using AI to extract specific information
from the dataset.
