Deerfield XCP was created by QCW alumni (from the 1980s) as an alternative to off-season muddy trail riding.  The XCP acronym stands for Cross County MTB on paved and gravel surfaces.

The original course started out in 1989 on the Landen Farm CSA paved trail network and later expanded to include the paved gold cart trails at Kingswood Park.  This is were the COBRA mountain bike racing team trained in the muddy season. (1989-1993)

In recent years the network has been expanded to include HOA paved community trail systems throughout Deerfield Township plus the Honeywell, Luxottica, and the P & G corporate campus loops.

All of the above is connected together via the Mason Shared Use Pathway Network and totals approx 25 miles. We can expand it even further as demand rises for it.

The ideal rig for Deerfield XCP is a hardtail XC bike equipped with a rigid or lock-out suspension fork and semi-slick XC race tires.   The short course (Landen CSA) record is currently held by a full-rigid 1996 Resto-Modded Stumpjumper.  Tires: Continental Speed King Race Sport 26 x 2.25.

The Landen CSA sector of Deefield XCP is private property and is open only to Landen residents and Accompanying Guests.  The rest of the Network is open to the public.  To join us as an Accompanying Guest we ask that you RSVP us when ever you see a ride posting.

Our group riding season typically runs from November thru March.  In the mean time, those who would like a  guided tour of the Deerfield XCP Network are welcome to message me to arrange a time.

I am posting this at Jonathan's request to include Deerfield XCP on the QCW calendar.  The handle many of you know me by on the G4B message board is Retro Grouch.  Yes, the same Retro Grouch that launched the Mountain Bike movement here in SW Ohio in the mid 1980s.

Long live the Retro Grouch Moto Club and the Vintage Off Road Bicycle Association (VORBA).

Retro out.
