How to redirect a pen drive as a usb device, not as a block device?

When I plug my pen drive these devices appear to be redirected:

sys-usb:sda
sys-usb:sda1
sys-usb:sda2

If I redirect sda, then I get sda1 and sda2 inside my VM, but I don't get /dev/sda, which is the device needed so I can dd a .img to the pen drive

How can I get the device inside?

If I do df -h inside the sys-usb, I don't even see the devices (when they're not redirected to VMs)

Guerlan:
You should be able to "qvm-block a vmname sys-usb:sda". It will show up
in your target VM as /dev/xvdi.
