Hello!

So, I switched to KDE as you can see in some other threads, and honestly I like it way better than XFCE.

My biggest issue right now however is, that the network manager applet does not show in KDE. I get notification when I start my session that I am connected to my network, and I do have connectivity. I am however not able to use the applet to connect to new networks or generally initiate network manager related actions.

I run Qubes 4.0.0, and my sys-net runs the fedora-28 template (without modifications).

I have tried googling around but could not seem to find a solution. I found an old fedora thread stating that there is a package that can be used for network manager in KDE (I can't seem to find it again). That package didn't work however.

I have tried opening a terminal in sys-net, killing nm-applet and starting it again. That does not seem to work either.

Any comments/suggestions welcome!

Thanks in advance!

This is a known issue with KDE. You should still have a blank icon
representing Network Manager in the systray. Finding it is easy, just
hover your pointer over the icon spaces and you'll see '[sys-net]
Network Manager Applet'. Its pretty easy to use it like this once you're
used to it.

I've done some investigation for (hopefully) a permanent fix, but don't
have time to work on it right now.
