I've noticed that when I have a program with an icon in the notification area, I cannot actually click the icon when another window from the same domain lies below it (in my case, 'snapped' to the bottom of the screen). Instead, the click is directed to the window beneath the notification area.

For example, if I open a NetVM terminal to correct the template update problem, I cannot select a wireless network from the NetworkManager applet if the NetVM terminal window is 1) maximized or 2) lies beneath the applet icon in the notification area.

This happens even if I have a different window from another domain as the 'in focus' window when moving to the notification area.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
