xfce4-panel - Applications menu, no icons?

to qubes-users

Having installed i3wm in Qubes 3.2, I still wanted the xfce4-panel:

I manually start it from the i3-config:
exec xfce4-panel --disable-wm-check

The funny thing is that none of the entries in the Applications menu have an icon anymore?

They worked just fine with the default xfce desktop, and I see all the icons in System Tools -> Application Finder.

Where should I start to look for a solution?
