Hello,

I like to get sound working under Qubes 4.0 and had the idea to buy a USB3-PCMCIA Adapter which I pass over to the Windows HVM. Then plug in a Mini- Bluetooth USB Dongle and try to get sound working through Bluetooth.

Question:
Will this work or is the whole "Audio-Card" controller missing in Qubes and I should use an audio USB card?

Wait what? why bluetooth? why wouldn't you just use a usb sound device?

It would definitely work if you used a usb audio controller attached to
a usb EC pci-e device which is passed through to a VM.

I thought about using bluetooth to reduce Clutter and to use my existing bluetooth Headset.

I could try to connect my internal USB controllers to the Win HVM and see if I can get sound out over a Bluetooth dongle

The battery shit that comes with anything wireless will drive you nuts -
plus you have the security issues.

Rant:
I wasted $70 on a stupid jawbone bluetooth headset years ago and I ended
up finding it annoying and never used it - naturally the battery is not
easily replaceable and it falls out of your ears so I can't easily sell
it off.

Now I hardly ever make calls so it is a waste of money.

Maybe I can give it to a schizophrenic hobo so he/she can not look so
crazy...after all the difference between a yuppie and a whackjob talking
to themselves is a bluetooth headset.

You could connect only one of them and use the other for regular usage,
although sometimes it doesn't work as they are part of the same IOMMU
group due to poor design by intel...whereas on my pre-PSP AMD kgpe-d16
they are separately assignable and have a total of 14 onboard ports via
breakout cables so you don't need insecure hubs.

Did you get this figured out? I'm trying to use headphones and external mic in windows 7 qube and can't get them to show up in windows. I may have to do something under settings, but I don't know what.
