Crossover on Qubes

Hey guys,

im interessted to install Crossover-Linux on my Qubes OS.

For this project, I have already written off the customer support, whether a smooth installation and use is possible.
The support was not sure for this.

I hope, that someone can help me here :)

Can i use Crossover on my Qubes OS?

If yes, is there some tutorial to install this Software?

GPU access would be the biggest factor, since Crossover prides itself in
good GPU/games support. But this consideration is similar to regular
Linux apps as well and most of those work fine in Qubes.

I don't know of a tutorial, but you could try your app under Wine first
(last time I checked, Crossover was a tweaked version of Wine).

If Crossover requires installation to /usr, etc. (i.e. it doesn't reside
in /home) then you'll have to install it in either a template or a
standalone VM made from a template (this is an option in the Qubes
Create VM dialog). The latter should make Crossover installation simpler
for testing purposes.

Yes but not for all usages.

I did install it using first a dedicated template (clone of fedora-28).
Then clone the template in a appVM.

BUT
You won't be able to run Office because it does require directX and the GPU acceleration.

I did successfully installed / used non GPU accelerated apps.

Just install the crossover rpm.
