Comments on Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2?

I'm considering to buy a Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 with the following configuration:

i7-1185G7 CPU
48 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
1 TB SSD, M.2 2280, PCIe, NVMe
UHD (3840 x 2160)
NVIDIA Quadro T500 4 GB GDDR6

Any concerns regarding the use of Qubes OS 4.0.4 on this machine?

Moreover, I can choose between:

Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 11AX (2x2) & Bluetooth 5.2 vPro
Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (2x2), Bluetooth 5.0 or higher

Is one of them to be preferred?

(I know they sell this product also with Ryzen CPU. But the reports on this do not look convincing for a production system yet.)

My laptop has an ax201 which has WiFi connectivity issues, especially when changing from one wireless network to another.

The device cannot be reset for some reason (mostly due to some iwlwifi specifics), therefore cannot connect to the new network.

So therefore i have to reset it by either of the following:
   - unloading the iwlwifi
   - suspend/resume
   - kill & restart sys-net and sys-firewall in order to get it working.

...or you may not face the same issue at all, if you work in the same wifi all the time. 

Also you may need to download firmware newer than fedora 32 provides, which exists in fedora 34 repos, but firmware handling is different on fedora 34 if i remember correctly.

Therefore you may or may not find the latest firmware for the card for the fedora 32 dom0. I haven't tested with the latest stock r4.1 dom0.

These two things could be the case for both cards I guess.

 

Other than that since bluetooth is disabled I don't think it will matter much ..
