Connection problem of AppVM when using proxyVM with VPN

Following official Qubes docs on how to create a proxyVM, I successfully installed and run AirVPN in that proxyVM.

Connection works and that machine has been created checking "provide network" box, as per instructions.

But when I use an appVM and I set network connection through proxyVM, connection is not working.

I am quite new to Qubes (and actually very happy with it), so could someone help me to log what is not working and why? Thanks.

As a workaround I am currently using VPN in a dedicated AppVM, but of course the use of a proxyVM makes it much more flexible and convenient.
