Hello,

very nice is the QM-Menü for the Win7-HVM, so now I can start the Win7 HVM for the windows tools installation with one click (very cool).

But I run into the error: libxenlight

What must I do, that I can install the qubes-windows-tools?

Do I need some internet connection, to install the qubes-windows-tools, or will be it possible to finish the step without internet connections?

Sure if QWT was installed before in dom0
sudo qubes-dom0 update qubes-windows-tools

Or must be the Win7 image online for this step (it has no network at the moment).

Kind Regards

You didn't include the full "libxenlight" error message, but it sounds
like it's probably this:

https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/1977

Or maybe one of these, if you're trying to attach a PCI device:

https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/1659
https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/1619

Hallo Andrew,

It seems that it was not a good idea from me to attache the Audio PCI device to the Win7VM (with this I tried to connect the Audio direct).

Error starting Win7. Command is invalid. PCI Audo device was attached to Win7.

I removed the PCI Audio device.

Again, start VM for QWT installation.

Error starting Win7VM: internal error libxenlight could not generate new domain Win7VM.

But this message sounds not logical, because Win7VM still exists and Windows is installed and activated. Only the QWT need to be installed now.

What will be the best way to solve this issue for me?

Kind Regards

Hallo Andrew,

the command line QWT installation will also get stuck with some error.

How I can copy the dom0-terminal error message to another AppVM?
(Would be useful :-) ).

Kind Regards

I think I'm running into this same problem. I'm running Qubes R3.2 RC1.
I have an HVM called win7 with Windows 7 installed. Here's the error I
get when I try to install windows tools:

Micah, do you also have a PCI device assigned to that HVM?

Excellent. Just to be thorough, the problem was that I hadn't installed
the qubes-windows-tools package in dom0. Since that package isn't yet
available in R3.2 RC1, I installed it from the testing repos:

sudo qubes-dom0-update --enablerepo=qubes-dom0-current-testing
qubes-windows-tools

Hello,

I installed the test repos QWT and now like to test the QWT, if it will work.

Secure Copy and Paste:

I took some text from the web VM1 and try to copy it into the Win7-txt file.

But it was not working.

How I can use the secure copy and paste between Win7 and any VM?

Or how I can test E2E, if the QWT is working well?

Kind Regards

Hello,

I like to check the QWT installation.

https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/windows-appvms/

If I use the command:

qvm-prefs Win7VM

than all this parameters are FALSE:

qrexec_installed
guiagent_installed
default_user

What can I do that QWT is running under Q R3.1?

Kind Regards
