How do I install headphones and an external mic to Windows Qube?

I followed the instructions on Qubes site for installing external audio devices (https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/external-audio/), typed in last line: pactl load-module module-udev-detect, and it says:

Failure: Module initialization failed.

Instructions say to use terminal of Qube the install destination qube is based on, but the template field is empty in the Windows qube settings (which is where I'm trying to use the audio device from). Not sure if the fact that it's a Standalone VM has anything to do with it. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
