Good morning all.

My qubes 3.2 crashed with a unknown bug. I had not backed-up the vms (yes, I know...a basic error but I was having difficulty attaching external USB device) . I was able however to image the disk onto an external harddrive, and then reinstall Qubes.

I would to know whether it is possible to to copy across the old VMs' from the external disk image into the new Qubes.

Based on some help pages on the Qubes site, I have tried copy/replacing a private.img from one of the old VM in the external drive into a cloned VM - work-clone-1 - but the VM doesn't appear to recognise the old files in the private.img.

Is there another way.

Many thanks in advance for your consideration.

- Julian
