This would be more in the style of Tails - no persistent state.

Wups, there is some thought on this already

https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Qubes/Disposable_VM

There are issues, anybody try this?

Cube:
I use Whonix as a DisposableVM based on the instructions on the
Whonix site. It works fine. A few minor issues come up from time to
time, none of which are major enough for me to even remember what they
are off the top of my head.

Cheers,

This has been proposed and is being tracked here:

https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues/issues/2024

You can find some interesting discussion in the comments and in the
linked issues.

OK that's in the direction of a pure tails HVM solution it seems. I think I'm more on the idea of simply a disposable Whonix/TOR VM. I followed the instructions I gave above

https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Qubes/Disposable_VM

And found that my disposable VM's have been taken over by Whonix. Wups ... any thoughts on either reverting my disposable VM statefile or having dual VM's?

Well it's easy to revert

qvm-create-default-dvm --default-template

It's not restricted to that. Read the comments on that issue.

Would require disposable HVM, I don't think Qubes has implemented that
at this time.

Also DispVMs do not feature anti-forensics yet:
