Some questions please:

1. Debian was initially/primarily adopted by Qubes because Fedora tended
to drop support quickly - was this the only reason?

2. Archlinux was added because of its superior package management, and
greater package "care"?

3. IIUC, Debian has/(had?) some quirks that makes Fedora still the
smoother, easier package for newbies?

4. Recent comments by Marek ("Yeah, dnf is just another crappy Fedora
package manager...") suggest that the bloom may be little bit off the
Fedora rose?

5. The next release of Fedora will apparently include application and
kernel "hardening" (compiler options, internal configurations, ?) which
seems a good thing. Do/will Debian and Archlinux provide equivalent
safeguards?

6. What other differences should a Qubes user consider when choosing
between these distributions for R3.

7. Does ITL find any of these packages "less headache prone"?

TIA

Hello,

I use all of the available distribution.

Debian can be used for media things, because it is much easier.

Archlinux has really nice new packages, especially if you want to develop things.
E. g. newest packages for the Rust programming language, sage math etc.

Additionally Archlinux is a rolling release distribution, which means you get constantly updates and upgrades, but there are no version jumps.

Fedora has the best ITL support and offers a mix of up-to date software and conservative software. Useful for most things.

At the end it is your personal choice or preference what you want to choose.
