I have an alfa network card which I was previously using with Kali for pentesting. I have recently switched to qubes and i'm wondering how you would go about setting it in monitor mode.

I have a qube setup where I have installed the aircrack-ng suite. The networkVM for the qube is sys-whonix however I have also tried attaching it straight to sys-fireall. At first I tried simply attaching the card to sys-net and when that didn't work I attached it straight to the domain. Both times when I ran airmon-ng the available options listed were:

(a) PHY
(b) Interface
(c) Chipset

I attempted to run airmon-ng start <name> on all three of these options but each yielded no results stating that they simply were not wireless cards.

One final thing to note is that the alfa card has a blue 'activity' light which flashes as soon as I plug it into Kali (even without an internet connection) and also when it is attached to sys-net. However when attaching it to my aircrack-ng qube nothing happens.

Thanks in advance for any help or insight in how I might go about solving this

Is it a card or a USB device? If it's a card, your best luck will be
attaching it straight to your aircrack qube. If USB, check to make sure
nothing else is on that USB controller (especially keyboard), then you
can try assigning the USB controller directly to the aircrack qube.

It's a USB Device, i'll try that as soon as I get home.

Thanks for your reply!
